    Upcoming tamiya releases

    • blog-cover-tamiya-Upcoming-M07R-Touring-

Tamiya released a photo about the upcoming M07R 1/10 Touring.  It is the new version of M07 after two years.

Let’s check out the new look of this improved chassis!

Here we see the previous M07 incarnation

The Tamiya M-Chassis platform has been around since the early 1990s. Now in its 7th generation, the M-07 Concept is a significant evolution from its predecessors. Designed by the same designer who brought the TA-07 Pro Touring Car chassis to life, this chassis takes a number of design cues from Tamiya’s touring car models and features a largely changed design from its numeric predecessors. The goal set forth with this new platform; ease of maintenance and responsive drive characteristics, all of which were attained during its development. The all-new features incorporated into the M-07 CONCEPT make it truly rewarding to drive for those who would like to experience the excitement of R/C racing.

      Quick Features

      • The M-07 Concept will be available in kit form with a length of 332mm and width of 164mm.
      • Similar to that of the TA-07 Pro, the main chassis uses a 1-piece monocoque with integrated upper frame elements.
      • The M-07 will be available with two different wheelbases, adjusted by flipping the rear suspension arms (M: 225mm, L: 239mm).
      • A major upgrade; new, long suspension arms and steering linkage components for better handling. Rear toe can also be adjusted with included spacers.
      • 4-wheel independent suspension with CVA oil-filled shocks.

      No price details as yet!

Tamiya announced that the Toyota Hilux mountain rider is coming soon. The first version was released in 1992. The body is made of resin and is a pickup style equipped with twin tube roll bar. This is the Tamiya Toyota Mountain Rider 4×4 Pick-Up 1/10 Scale 4WD Electric Truck Kit. The Toyota 4×4 Pick-Up Mountain Rider features a realistic 3-speed transmission and a solid axle leaf spring suspension. The original layout of the Mountaineer chassis has been kept while modern improvements have been discretely incorporated to bring added fun and function. This is a special re-release of the popular Mountaineer R/C kit, under a new name. The re-vamped 4×4 chassis is the same as the reliable unit used in the 2012 re-release of the Toyota Bruiser.

The M07-R is very nice, but the Moutain Rider being a re-release of a re-release is just silly...

The comical Hornet was predictable, although this now opens doors for future comical series, but which ones? I guess they can make anything comical now they have a chassis.

          Thanks for the links dude....

I've noticed a worryingly low amount of product releases from this years nuremburg fair..... Its usually the hub of big releases for most companies....

After seeing the cub report.... Its just confirmed what I suspected this last week.... A host of missing rc companies from this years fair...

Hopefully things will pick up come the summer time

Yeah I know what you mean, I was all excited this year, especially after last years releases/re-releases.

Saying that, there is still the Shizuoka toy fair, sure it's in March or May? But hopefully we'll see some better models.

The Mountain Rider shown isn't an official photo, it's my photo of my truck. Somehow it got picked up and has made its way onto all the RC news sites.

The big clue being how it's shot on a sheet of glass to give the reflection (which Tamiya never do), but you can also spot the second door mirror, no chrome paint on the A pillar drip rails and no white "TOYOTA" lettering on the tailgate (which I've since corrected).
