Seems odd to claim 100mph if it's a roller? Small print might state the chassis is "designed" to handle up to 100mph?

This looks bug ugly and the xo1 doesn’t plus it’s only a roller the xo1 isn’t nice idea but not for me. To be honest neither the xo1 or this float my boat speed runs I find a bit dull and boring after about 2 minutes 🤣🤣. This is aimed at the Indy car /F1 look but imo it fails horribly looks like they slapped  a 1/8th wing upside on the front and got a kid to make a rear wing, the whole styling is just awful. I’ve seen better homemade speed run cars if I’m completely honest.

Max speed possible 100 is that it? Surely they've tried 8s too. So what's the point in a dedicated speed runner if an off road with road tires can almost go 150.

I was expecting innovation  for this to be the next level in speed running unless it can do 100 around a track what's the point. Or if it was built to take gear ratios never attempted mayb using a sling shot contraption to get it off the line. Some stuff uses a push off the line in 1/1 right. Or twin power 1st 2nd elecs and ch3 switch to switch motors.

You start on low get up to 40-50 hit that switch and it's gone 8s beast combo takes over with stupid gearing. Mayb its not possible though but would be the next level imo. A nitro brushless hybrid even lol. Nitro to 40mph then hit the switch and gear changes to brushless insane gearing. Mayb I'm thinking more 2050 rc lol.

I'm turning my smash into a road runner soon idk if I'll try for 100 tho but it will still in ludicrous I'm sure. 4s 2700kv to start with since even now it's never been full speed but is wild I got close the other week. With mx28 tires and slash parts over gravel.

I think they are appealing to an audience that likes gimmicks with this.  If speed runs are your thing then great but I thought half the fun was building your speed runner?

if you used the standard arrma system on 6s its geared to 119.3mph, i guess with aerodynamic drag, its around 100mph?

It also has removable parts, so its not just for speed runs, it can go round corners as well.

Thought it was strange theyve done a roller as they seem a direct competitor to Traxxas with RTRs. That said theres a hell of a lot of people on the forums using Kratons/Typhons etc as speed machines. Im guessing they think people will abandon their modded speed vehicles and put the electrics in this?

I can only see new releases as a plus in general....

I see a company moving to cover all. Sectors of the market....

This is marketed towards a speed run enthusiast... . Which in itself is niche... But the just fortifies the view of an expanding company bolstering its market share by expansion...

    Thumbs up from me👍

Yes. If you want an rtr version you could just get the truck version tbh. If you are a serious speed freak you will probably upgrade the rtr system anyway :)

I think its a great idea, just like the XO1 a speed run specific car. From the videos I've seen so far it looks properly planted at 100mph. Its not just a kraton with short arms either, its a new chassis and I like that its a roller.....awesome.

    Lol that's funny dude...

    Could well be...

Guess we'll have to wait till the yanks jump on it.... And start sending them down those roads at 100mph....

Wonder if these have the plastic diffs in??

the diffs are the same as the 6s models, you can see it in one of the pictures on the page for it on arrma website. has cvds in front and dog bones in the rear.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder obviously.

The Arrma Limitless is by far the better designed vehicle for speed runs imho, looks better than the XO1 and for the money it is better value too.

For example let's say not including batteries and charger your budget is £800.

On Modelsport UK the Traxxas XO-1 is £799 RTR without the batteries or charger you'd need.

The Arrma Limitless is £359 as a rolling chassis ~ so lets make it a decent speed runner from the get go by adding a Castle Mamba Monster 2 for £151.99, then a Futaba 3PV & receiver for £109 which so far is a total of £619.99 leaving you almost £180 for a steering servo (£35 est) and a decent motor like something from TP Power (£145 ~ TP4070 or similar).

That set up on the Limitless depending on the gearing you chose would easily be 120mph+ and absolutely destroy the XO-1.

Of the two, I'd probably choose the Limitless, but after six high speed passes, what do you do with it? I reckon they'd make for an interesting class of racing; 4wd and F1 looks.
