Maverick Blackout

Friend of mine has come around and he is a specialist in Plastic's/carbon fiber etc etc.. we are meeting nxt week to see if he can make my Beast Lighter... using some almost indestructible plastic polycarbonate. he's got me wet about Chassis/shock towers/end plates/servo he has said he could make them all for me at his factory..!!!

So if they are good ( i'll test them) i will get a couple extra made up for my visit to My father Christmas Mid December..

looks good, you lucky buggers don't have the horrible orange or blue alloy parts but nice gunmetel grey...we had to use drano crystals on all the alloy to get all the anodising off over here. i see they now have a rear tank to tower brace which is being used on the new XT version that's due for release in January. that should help a bit in the rear

make sure you drill and bolt the pin retainers at the back and front of the diffs all the way thru...with the huge tires simple tumbles can shove the arm back/forward against the retainer which gets shoved back and strips the screw and split the cases where the retainer screws into the case if you don't.

One other thing to pay close attention to is the th/br servo...it does look different to the ones we get but they were a throwaway item before you ran...hopefully the maverick ones are better...the rampage ones glitched badly so you had to be quick with the kill switch...and if it came with a peanut failsafe throw that away too...they caused more fails than safes;)

time to go play and get it dirty

I am so excited an its not even my Blackout!!

lets see some pics of the shell plastidipped!!

i've done 3 coats with Clear Plasti-dip from can, it's taken the shine off the shell a bit but i think it'll save the shell in the long run..

Hi they do other colours

]And you can find them here

http://www.tgndistri...ble-sleeve.html and DDM do them and MMR do them.

Cheers for the link mate, btw when you strip the engine down from the tank make sure you put the correct fuel line back the carb as they are the same colour lol

well i have just hit a snag... :helpsmilie:

on the gear cover there is 3 very small screws allen key head. The 1st one came out lovely however the other two spun in the socket head and it's inbetween sizes. I want to get the cover off so I can vent the plastic cover.

Any help would be appreciated.. i'll carry on with the Killswitch in the mean time..

Couple of options

1. use some tin foil over your hex driver

2. superglue your driver in then undo

3. use a torx driver if you have one it will act like an easyout
