Does anyone know where I can buy these screws in larger quantities or the spec so I can search myself. BSP prices are ok but I could probably pay half from china.

https://www.bspspares.co.uk/products/m4-x-8mm-4-x-8-black-inner-hex-button-socket-screw-x-10?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&variant=795134335&gclid=CMOBs8frh8wCFawp0wod8DoO3w

The difference between these and the common ISO7380 spec screws is this screw uses a bulkier 3mm socket instead of the standard 2.5mm which are easy to strip.

Never really seen them with a 3mm hex head. Can't find owt atm. Those could be specialist from BSP.

I just get the standard ones with the 2.5mm and all my other bolts from here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M4-4mm-High-Tensile-10-9-Socket-Button-Head-Screws-Black-Self-Colour-Bolts-/321590567252?var=&hash=item76daa5d545

Pack of 100 m4 x 8mm 2.5 hex is £6.99.

I'm gonna wreck a few heads taking the Vorza to bits I reckon. Damn thing is built solid

Lol most standard bolts are just soft steel so they do strip real easy swap them out for s/steel and your problems will be over its not really the size of the hex it's the material used

No I find the larger slotted screws are better and make a big difference. A bigger 3mm slot means the same force is spread over a bigger area and therefore harder to strip.

Just received my order and theyre regular 2.5 hex heads. I've contacted BSP as they're not the same as what's listed.

Muppets. Another "not as described" pfffft.

If they've messed up and it's a typo (I've never heard of them with 3mm heads) Go to Boltbase on ebay and get a bulk load, decent prices. Then just change them on a regular basis. Or use less threadlock so they can actually be taken off :whistling:

I found the stainless worse for stripping so sticking with HT

I weirdly had a couple of 3mm head ones in my bits box and theyre on some RC cars not the HPI ones tho. My BZ-888 has them on the steering towers that hold the brace on.

As far as recomendations go for screw suppliers I've learned not to recommend anyone unless they sell a special product(like BSP are meant to have done). I order alot of different screws for RC on ebay and theyre all made at the same factory and sold on ebay so I just get the cheapest now. I find kayfast usually works out cheapest in what I use but dont swear by them or recommend them.

I usually use these cap head screws in a m4 12mm version for the engine mounts as they're really hard to strip. On trophys the issue is the heads are slightly thicker than the chassis and can scrap and get muck on the heads easily. Button head screws are better for this purpose but the standard button head m2.5 screws are way too easy to strip. As for using less threadlock I'd rather use better bolts.

Quick question, is the an updated lost of spare parts and hop ups anywhere? As the parts links on the original post dont work anymore (or atleast for me)

Just for future reference for me as im just starting to get into this and will need spare bits soon when they start to wear out.

Hey guys and girls (if there is any), i've messaged a staff member (Rover Man) about trying to sort out the dead links in the first post,  he offered a compromise that i think will suit us,  simply we collect all our current links, advice, recommended  upgrades etc, add them to a post, we then let rover man know the post and he'll edit the thread title to include "new links on page blah blah blah".

So, you all up for sharing all your links etc,  for both buggy and truggy and both nitro and electric

Got my TT out today, first time in 6 months! Swapped the 1600kv 4082 for a Skyrc X8ST 1700kv and dropped from a 17t to 15t pinny and put 10AWG leads on the esc (was 12awg). Steered loads better, the 4082 had too much torque and the front was always airborne. Done my head in that did. Wasn't that quick but didn't hang around with the smaller skyrc.

Just did a few WOT runs on the grass (uncut bloomin council) and read the motor temp at 40C after 2 packs (25 mins total) :)

Looks like I have some room to gear up a bit

Those twin fan heatsink units from Yeah racing certainly keep the temp down, they're great

Wow, you've certainly hit the ground going.  I think we should give it a few days to see what else can be added, then add it all to one post then let rover man know which page its on.

Which member should we put the post under, would need to be someone quite active so we can have it edited easily?

Hi guys, had a problem with the nitro truggy today. After some hard use it started playing up, all the power was going straight to the front. Would it be stripped gears in the center dif?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Most likely center, maybe pinion at rear. Upgrade to 101142 hard gears in the center and it won't happen again for a long while. If rear make sure shimming is correct. 101142 gears are a good investment

Did you notice if the center to rear driveshaft was turning when the you were using your nitro, as if it was then that would point to the rear diff

It's the distribution side of it in Europe whatever that means.

Prob says to me that the U.k. might not get "distributed" anything HPI related at some point in the future.

That would make sense, u.k. sucks for getting anything if it hasn't come out of a container from China.

I have noticed an "in stock" decrease on HPI parts compared to last year so who knows.

Yeah its HPI europe who have placed themselves in administration to protect it’s assets and interests from Neidhart S.A. i.e. essentially stalling and preventing any asset transfer.

http://www.rcnews.net/2016/01/22/hpi-europe-in-administration/

It's really annoying that this popped up and nothing has developed since.

http://www.liverc.com/news/announcements/11745-DEVELOPING%3A_Traxxas_to_acquire_HPI_Racing%3F/

I spoke to the guys at a local model shop who specialize in HPI and they say that HPI are begging to restock some parts. I've finally received my own order after an 8 week wait on our little island(the U.K.).

lol definitely not. Maybe your local model shop but I spent a day last month ringing different model shops for stocks of items and ended up buying from a local guy who had spares.
