hi i'm new to big scale petrol buggies so i hope you can help?

i've got a hobbypro mutilator 6 and if i go on the local bmx track and potter about doing the odd jump or two after about 5 minutes the engine boggs and wants to die, if it's left for a while and then took out again but on the field and use at the top end speeds it will run all day without a problem - my fuel mix is 200ml of oil to 5l of fuel and the carb settings are as they came out of the box.

any ideas people???????????

Hi,

I would have said your 25-1 oil ratio was fine but if you are still running needles at factory settings you need to lean out the high end a bit. I have only ever run factory settings for first tank. Then lean a little, no more than 16th of a turn, try it, if still bogging a bit, lean some more, you might get a shock at what your engine will give in power. You will eventually get to a point where leaning makes it worse, you know then you past the sweetspot, crank it back a 16th and your there. Really depends on what you are doing, if it is a lot of start and stop stuff, you want it a wee bit rich.
