Thunder Tiger eb4 s2 starts but cuts out

If you turn the screw an 1/8th of a turn at a time it should start n run from idle unless you got more of a serious problem. In which case you will need to strip engine down. Sometimes heating engine a little first works as well.

First thing to check is that your idle is correctly set.

It's a simple process.....but very important. Also....you don;t say whether you have warmed up the engine at all. Nitro motors can be a but sulky until you get some heat into them.

Idle set:

1) Remove your air filter.....and switch on your transmitter and receiver. WE WILL NOT BE STARTING THE ENGINE LIKE THIS!

2) Look at the gap between the carb slide and hte carb body. At it's widest it should be around 1mm.

3) Apply the brakes...the gap should not close. If it does, your linkage is not correctly setup and hte servo is holding the throttle at idle. Wehn you brake...your motor will tend to cut out.

4) Adjust the throttle stop screw until you have a gap of 1mm at the widest point. If you have to widen the gap...hold the throttle open while you adjust the throttle stop screw so the carb slide is not pressing on the screw.

5) Double check your adjustment opening hte throttle and braking. Your gap should close to 1mm and not further.

6) Refit the air filter, and start the car.

Now.....one last thing to check. Are you sure you have the same grade of glowplug as the one you had before? A glowplug has a big effect on how a motor runs, and it's particularly apparant in areas where the motor is least happy...like at idle.

Did get it warmed up to a very hot level to a point where when fuel was entering the carb you could hear it bubbling which is concerning?

I bought an OS8 Glow plug after some advise i read on here..

OS8 is OK for the motor ( assuming you have the stock TT motor ) but the question is...what was in there before?

Yep all stock, the one in before was the manufacturers fitted one. Was still glowing OK when i took it out but looked quite old and wasn't starting at all with that in.
