Dirt-540 Posted August 19, 2017 Share Posted August 19, 2017 Glad I found this, I accidently started a thread for these trucks on 'Short Course Trucks' after searching and not finding this thread. Am quite intereseted in these Desert Fox buggy/trucks they look cool and seem value for money. Im sure they'll keep breaking as £109 for ARTR is peanuts. But I think maybe if its bashed carefully and not too madly it may last a bit. Plus I have some modelling ideas for it to make it look more mean. I just would like to ask if there is somebody tried using the Traxxas VXL-3s setup? currently i got Traxxas xl-5 with Titan 550 21T Motor to it and its a bit slow .. MrBugs Posted May 3, 2018 Share Posted May 3, 2018 I've had one of these two about a year and I find the body really weak. I've been through two bodies already and my third one also just broke. Does anyone know of a good replacement body I can use for this? Am thinking the SCT bodies might fit but not sure what mods i would need to make the body posts fit. Anyone had success retrofitting another body on the desert fox? I've tried the FTX carnage body but didn't like the look so much. Thanks. Valdeck Posted August 31, 2018 Share Posted August 31, 2018 First off glad to find another form with a thread. Do you guys know of any good place to get spare parts? I saw there were some models on thing verse and a buddy of mine has a printer but I would love to find a regular stock kind of place. I have found the a arms in a in a few spots but for some reason it’s always just the front ones. From what I can tell though they seem to be the same piece even though on HK they are listed separately. Also the hinge pins and rear dogbone seem to be incredible hard to find in stock. I put ftx carnage front shock springs to lower front part and rebuild shocks with 50w oil, much better corner handling now. Roll cage is really week, I just broke front part of mine.
