Handle well on tarmac car park. 8000mah batteries are a tight squeeze in to battery box - may struggle to get them in once they have swelled a bit with age. Fills the boot of a Mondeo! Its Big! (that's what she said!) Found it a place for it to sleep till the weekend! Is that a standard Summit wearing 40 series Mashers at the side? Would love to see some comparison shots of the two rigs when you get time. cheers
rushboy2004
Body height is fixed due to the way its mount to the frame for the quick release. 15 minutes ago, evssv said: I`d b getting them tyres off the deck.....put it on sumin if I where u.... Over weekend I get them out and take some comparison shots against some of my collection to help people get a idea of scale
Noj
Blue looks better to me, agree with Prae on the body height.... Nice to see it against the 5ive and Summit, fills the gap nicely.

Deafty
Can someone strip it down and do a build thread please? Rtr
Ady 2215
Ha. Evening all. Just unboxed it. God it's big. Just registered it online with traxxas. I take it the chassis number is on the side of the battery tray. Begins with A000? Going to go though some checks over weekend Inc different oils and slipper clutch before the big run. First impressions apart from been massive. Looks and feels well build considering its all plastic. Also it's heavy even with batteries. Alex97
For the money I'd have expected that they removed all the excess material from the hubs. What do the plastics feel like as to me they look a little cheap.
Popular Post NG15
Decided to do a small strip down, check fluids and get the jist of how the main bits come apart. But I'm not going overboard and taking it totally apart just yet. I must say this thing keeps impressing me. I started with the shocks, one screw top one bottom to keep the pins in and they pull right out. The towers are built and moulded nicely to hold the pillow ball in place and spread the load as best as possible. The shocks were at the right level but the fluid seems a little thin, I plan on replacing with 50wt. It's also nice how there's a screw holding the bottom spring holder to the shock. I next decided to check the diffs, 7 screws and the diff pops out. Can literally be done in a minute. Note the holes in the lower bumpers for access to the 3 bottom diff case screws. The diffs were a little low on oil for my liking (about half way) so I topped them up. I do like the rubber seal instead of a gasket and the locator pins in the gear and case help re-assembly. I then decided to see how easy the rear clip comes off. Started with the driveshaft cover under the chassi which exposes the thick driveshaft. Then took the spur cover off (not necessary). After that 4 screws either side of the motor and 4 further back on the top deck, followed by one in from either side and two from the underside. Then unplug the motor wires and remove heatsink for the temp sensor. The truck does still hold together well with all screws removed but a good tug and the rear end comes out. Motor, spur etc etc. There's is 4 bolts for the underside holding in the motor and 4 ontop holding in a grey gear cover/layshaft carrier. Once all these are removed the spur/slipper/layshaft assembly can be removed along with the motor. My spur gear is set 1/2 a turn out on the slipper, gear mesh is a little tight for my liking but I'll see if it frees off after a run or so. All in all its very well put together truck and well thought out in terms of maintainance and disassembly. Worth checking diff fluids however. I also recommend u use an electric screwdriver with a very low torque setting as all screws go into plastic. Comparing it to a 1/5th the diff gears are considerably smaller. Very happy so far. Next job, solder deans and then test it (break it) Here's a few pics I took along the way For diff removal, two for bumper, 5 in front of case. To split rear remove shaft cover 4 screws around motor 4 further towards the back One either side Two underneath and you will be left with this Motor and layshaft cover removed From this point it took about 5 mins to reassemble. Really easily with it clipping together and not having to fight with it while you get a screw in. Edited February 4, 2016 by NG15

Deafty
what are your thoughts on the motor mount/noob mesh design now that u have it out? Will you look at the steering too?
NG15
It's a good system very simple and there is no way the mesh will slip unless the plastic breaks around the 2 locator pins which is very unlikely. Yes I plan on taking the front end off and looking at the servo etc tommorow. Not sure if the servo stays in when the front clip is removed, I hope so as the linkage/wires won't need to be removed everytime then. Front and rear diffs are interchangeable too ? Yes evssv it's a joy, not as easy as a 5ive but for a MT and compared to the likes of the savy it's great. atom3624
Found these during some 'surfing' - don't know if they're really helpful: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-X-Maxx-Billet-Body-Savers-Black-/272117632602?hash=item3f5b798e5a:g:mCoAAOSwa-dWqTGD Then I found something like this, so there are other options: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ansmann-Racing-10-x-Silver-Alu-4mm-Washers-for-M4-Coutersund-Screws-RC-Dress-UP-/360499763334?hash=item53ef75d886:m:miKcR-b2pGeoz68qptrXSVQ The Ansmann ones are for M4. Not certain what the 'X' bolts' sizes are. Al.

FatWheels
Mine is being delivered today between 1330 and 1430 by my driver Dorin. I am gonna lube her up and make her happy. Just watched this not sure if the chap is on here the truck sounds real smooth and is quite rapid. Another 5-10 mph would be off the scale.

Tug
Not too shabby on 6S, could do with a bit more top speed, but once it's bounding across rough terrain, that's gonna look a whole lot faster. Any more news from the owners today?
