Stepping into Truggy Ownership - Hyper TT

Recommended Posts

Bought a Hyper TT off a fellow member on here, awaiting for it to arrive at some point next week :-)

It's a roller, so I've got to source electrics. I've ordered a 120A Hobbyking X Car ESC, and I've got either a Vortex 2400kv 4 Pole, or 4300KV Turnigy Motor, what would people recommend ? Steering servo, is gonna be what ever I've got lying around until I can afford a decent one.

Gonna be running 2s at the moment.

If you will be running 2s then the 4300kv would be better suited. :)

Once/if you decide to run it on 4s plus then switch over to the 2400kv.

Also, make sure that you keep an eye on the esc/motor temps while you find the correct gearing.

Mod 1 is the same pitch as the one eighth nitro buggy use for their clutch bells. Same as for one eighth electric. They are normally found with 5mm shaft diameter pinions to suit the larger eighth scale motors.

One of the issues with hyper TT is finding pinions to fit. Normal tenth scale motors are 3.25mm shaft diameter. There are very limited options for 3.25 mm shaft and mod 1. You either need a bore reducer to suit the motor, or buy a motor with 5mm shaft.
