Which .21 Engine ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The Ninja Turbo engine in my Mugen MX5R has gone and looking to replace it with a none too expensive .21.

I don't race it any more, just bashing so it doesn't need to be competitive.

Value for money and robustness are more important.

Don't want a pull start engine as i have a starter box.

Thx for your help

Thanks for the recommendation.

How does it compare to the Novarossi N21B09

Thanks Sputnik but the P5 is outside my price range here in the UK. I am looking for more of a budget engine.

I have looked up the Fastrax Enduro and it seems to be highly rated but interested in how it compares to the Novarossi N21 and other budget engines.

How does the Nova P5 compare to the Fastrax, is it a much better engine for reliability ?

Also, on the cheaper end, views on the X-Act .21 3 Port in comparison to the Enduro?

The Fastrax is (at least) based on the Hyper.21...with a turbo plug...the Hyper.21 is decent quality and relatively long lasting considering the price.

The Nova N21B09- never had one but expect the quality and longevity to be a bit better than the above...also has 14mm crank (above 13mm).

The Nova P5 is a great engine...and given the choice would be what I would go for even though it is a few extra quid.

The X-act...never had one but have read good things and at that price you could buy a couple..

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I was leaning towards the Nova P5 but the X-Act is so cheap, I could buy two of them for the price of the P5
