Lipo battery alternatives?

Recommended Posts

hobbyking is a good supplier of cheap batteries just make sure you get them from the uk warehouse or there will be a high shipping cost, and take measurements of your battery tray to ensure they will fit.

No the plazma batteries you have at the moment are 2S (7.4V).

6600mAh is a higher capacity than 5300mAh which will mean a longer run time.

the C rating is the discharge rating of the battery and that combined with the capacity shows how much current it can potentially source. (ie 5300 x 30C is 5.3x30 = 159A)

So in regards to the 30c should I be getting 30c spec to replace ?

If it's lees or more than 30c what will the difference be?

Cheers again

40C will provide a bit more 'oomph' .

The Mah rating tells you how long it should go for. Higher Mah generally means the battery will supply power for longer. C rating tells you how much power there will be in rough terms.

If you divide the Mah by 1000 and multiply by the C rating, that tells you the max amps the battery will supply. You want this to be higher than your ESC can handle or your motor demand....then you know your batteries will not get stressed or overtaxed.

A 30C 5000Mah LiPo can provide150A..... 5300Mah 30C can stretch to 159 .....whereas a 5000Mah 40C can give 200A.

6600Mah LiPos will give even more run time .... but check your battery tray! Bigger cells. Hobbyking list the dimensions so you can check that whatever you do choose will fit.
