Tug
5S is a good voltage for 1/8, the sweet spot by all accounts. That does depend on what motor you're running, of course.

mydoddy69
I had forgotten to post this up took these pics a while back.. For those that might have wanted to see what the diffs looked like and the cut on the gears This is how they came filled with grease As you can see there a straight cut gear Lastly all cleaned and ready for some diff oil Went with 10,000 if i remember right next time i change the oil i may drop it to something a bit thinner . Edit Sorry i forgot to add these internal diff gears are the same as the hyper 7 Edited May 1, 2015 by mydoddy69

mydoddy69
what did you use to paint the body with? Lexan spray paint by tamiya and used liquid mask to get the effect of splattered paint and masking tape for the other bits
eatthis
Lexan spray paint by tamiya and used liquid mask to get the effect of splattered paint and masking tape for the other bits the ps range of paint? (polycarb?) was 1 can enough?
mydoddy69
the ps range of paint? (polycarb?) was 1 can enough? Yep that's the ones .. One can will give you a few thin coats but then your need to back it with either black white or silver depending on what effect and colour your after . This shell took 5 cans of piant but that's only because it uses different colours but that's not full cans I'm not the best painter but I try ! mydoddy69
Well its finally happened i broke something !! Mine own fault it got this bad as first of it was just one tooth but i thought oh well might as well drain my lipo but i just ended up shredding the whole spur almost and in the process screwing up my pinion Hopefully a vid to follow Edited May 8, 2015 by mydoddy69
Tug
That's nasty! Was the mesh off?
mydoddy69
No it was hitting piles of wood chip and using them as a ramp, not one of my better ideas as the front end would dig in and it was like hitting a wall !. Then I think some got caught in the gear mesh knocked it out of line and I lost a tooth on the spur .. Then I just thought oh well and carried on but the mesh was then out because of the missing tooth most of the teeth if you look close have just snapped off .. Time for a upgrade just found out they now make a cnc spur and it's only a few quid more so hopefully it will be here soon !

atom3624
HoBao / Hong Nor http://radiocontrolzone.com/showthread.php?t=159398 Al. THIS was correct and the first reply. Here's more ammo - from RC Universe - asking about the OFNA name ... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-1-8th-scale-buggies-244/1606706-ofna-just-hobao.html Al. mydoddy69
A quote from a forum is not quite hard evidence and you shouldn't believe everything you read on the wonder web ! But yes I am in the thought that Ofna is just a disbutor of Hobao/ Hong Nor products . Do I care NO not really .. I was merely pulling the guys leg ! -BEZ-
Its a brand thing. Americans prefer to buy products that have more western sounding names ........ so names like Hong Nor HoBao etc change to western names like Jammin and OFNA as it fools the unsuspecting customers into believing its a domestic product. It's just marketing nothing else
evssv
Opal=vauxhal. ......same difference
atom3624
Steering wheel mate ... !! Joking aside, totally agreed. Strangely, always used to think that Opel's were better made than Vauxhalls - no idea why. Al.
