Popular Post sean-vrs
Santa has been and left and he's done me proud. This is now a discontinued model but after reading various threads (Tugs Super 5) and seeking advise I went and sourced one from Germany More to follow.

brucey45
I have been looking around for one of these second hand, as you can imagine there aren't many about. Do you mind telling me where you got yours please, I only ask as I may buy one new if the price is good! Thanks

Tug
If you're sticking with 1/8 leccy bits, I'd recommend dropping to an 1800kv motor and fit a cooling fan to it. Then leave the gearing stock and on 6s it should still be fast enough. Either that or keep it to 5s max. 6s will cook the stock motor. Stub axles; there's a guy on URC that's created a solution using Baja axles and some careful drilling and cutting. I might attempt this at some point, but as I don't go too hard on the largescale cars, I may not bother.
Tug
I've also fitted an ally steering assembly, definitely worth doing. Cheap as chips from eBay. You might also have read about the servo that landed in my lap for less than half price, these trucks need serious torque!
sean-vrs
Yea, I've checked everything over the standard Servo can't even centre from lock, the suspension seems plush and the weight when compared to my 5ive is night and day. The rear carriers need attention as I've mentioned before with the tie rod deletes definitely corner cut right there. Will check out the alloy assembly cheers. brucey45
Thanks for sharing that! I'll look into it. It's getting close to 5ive money now.
turok007
im close to buying one. i found it here http://www.mmrlargescale.co.uk/acatalog/RCHP105237.html
Tug
Deletes are a must on any Savvy. Forget the Savox 1256, not man enough. It's too close to 5ive money by a mile! But not if you want to properly convert said 5ive. A decent leccy 5ive is far more than this.
Tug
Suspension is just perfect, I've not touched mine other than the leaking seals that have afflicted all the Savvy shocks I've so far owned.
sean-vrs
That's a good find Turok, let us know if you pull the trigger. Like the Tyres too seem quite sticky and grippy to me? I've got many 5th scale wheel sets but I don't think I'd like to put them on this rig all seems purpose built to be light weight.
