Hpi TF-40 Transmitter Battery mod

Modding ANY transmitter to run off a different battery is the same.

 

If your TX uses 8 AAs then you want a 3S LiPo, such as the Turnigy 1450Mah one designed for a radio and flat and compact. If it's 4 AAs then you want something like a 6.6V LiFe pack. Again...you will find packs specifically designed for radios. Just check the battery size...and check the space available

 

Open up the transmitter case, remove the battery tray, and solder on a suitable plug where the battery tray was attached. Then plug in your battery.

 

that's all there is to it really.
