ftxfrenzy8
Hi guys just wanted an overall reveiw of this engine and also does it take standard glow plugs.
mrfodds
Good entry race engine, it has a very linear power band so pretty easy to control. Decent but not overly impressive fuel efficiency. Takes a turbo glow plug, OS P3 are generally considered the best but Alpha do their own range too.
sean-vrs
I'm running one in a Losi 8ight EU which came with the pipe combo, it's easy to start and tune, holds the tune well and can see 10 mins out of a tank when racing. Linear power band as said before it's all across the rpm range Can't do better for

tomr
I'm torn between the club racer and the z852 but I'll have to have to make my mind up soon my os engine is getting a low on compression and fancy a change
Morpet
Love my f850 easily keeps up with others at my local track and it's still running slightly rich
gavin28
I've got an Alpha Z852 with a Hong Nor 2047 in my CLX, very quick and snappy on the throttle with great top end. My brother as a Picco .21 5 port, which although we haven't run side by side yet, seams to have a bit more bottom end, but once the revs increase, the alpha just seams so much quicker, the engine loves to scream I have fitted 1.1mm clutch springs so the lack of bottom end isn't noticeable now, it just takes off like a scalded cat. Never used or seen a F850 so can't compare, but I'm more than happy with the Z852
Anthoop
Morpet runs one too he's on the forums mines all broke in now Have you played around with the exhaust ends?
sean-vrs
I'm running and tuned to a 8mm stinger and morpet is running a different stinger.. real smooth power with this combo but I'm yet to time a tank. only just finished break-in.
