ffdave
Having some problems setting up a traxxas slash with XL5. I have had it running but still not right have had no problems reseting the esc and programming it but once done when I put the transmitter into reverse sometimes it just goes full forward throttle. Have reset and re connected the transmitter but still having this problem. Could this be the transmitter and reciever at fault. As you can probably tell I'm quite the noob and any advice would be greatful ( I have searched endlessly with no avail up until now) Cheers Dave
Noj
2.4g or 27mhz transmitter? 'Reconnected the transmitter' - I think you mean recalibrated with the esc, as in, 'teaching' the ESC where full throttle, brake and neutral are? Did you do this with the throttle trim in the neutral position?
ffdave
27mhz transmitter. Yes set the trim to the neutral position and yes recalibrated the esc.
Noj
Is the Rx aerial in good condition, and placed away from the ESC, motor, battery leads etc, all of which can cause interference? Is the slash new and under warranty? If so, I'd return it and get the ESC and radio gear swapped out for replacements...
ffdave
No it's not new unfortunately. Il check the aerials condition to see if that could be the cause. Then if that fails a process of elimination needed to get sorted ....thankyou for the advice appreciated
ffdave
Aerial seems fine will try another receiver/transmitter first and if it's still an issue am I right in thinking the ESC could be kaput?
Noj
It does seem like it I would hesitate to replace like for like....there are other, wp brushed escs that are reliable, or, maybe this is the time to go brushless
