Hi, mate welcome to the forum. The ECX mini trucks are said to be great little trucks. However, it will depend on what you intend to do with it as to wether it is the right choice. If you plan on running outside you would be better off with a 1/10 scale (FTX carnage/vantage, Maverick strada mt/xb/xt or even a 1/10 scale ECX) but if your children are a bit young then the 1/18 scale ECX would be fine for indoor use.

Welcome mate. I started the same way buying one for my 8 yr old. Trouble is when you take them somewhere its abit boring just watching so I bought one for me too, Its a BSD-Racing prime onslaught as it is what the local shop stocks including the spares, So far its great although I may update it to brushless in the future.

Cheers yeh my boys will be 4 and 5 so wanted to keep them cheap so was looking at the 1/18th cars an they like these I know the bad part of them is the battery's what am I best to get for them lipos an what charger been looking on hobbyking, the chargers say no power supply so what do I need. I think for me I'll get a 1/10 car I have an old nitro koyosho sandmaster in the garage bit needs some tlc now. And I brought 3 nitro rc cars that need work from a carboot as they were cheap ones a achme one traxxxas and one hsp but the traxxas an the achme are missing loads of parts the hsp is only missing a few.

Hi and welcome, reference Hobby King, they are great for lipos etc, they also sell power supplies for chargers, plus have a look at the MS site they have a good range.

Ok cheers I've just managed to get 2 brand new ecx smash 1/18th trucks for half the price of a ruckus an there the same just 2 wheel drive any one recommend battery's to fit them and a charger

Get the battery tray dimensions and then have a look through Hobbyking, are these models brushed motor ?. Will they take lipos ?.

Brushed that's the help I was after looked it up an people use them I'm unsure as I had old tamiya cars years ago an the speed control used to burn back then
