lel-95
New wheels and tyres came today, I know I black would probably suit the colour of the shell better but I have a thing for white wheels My pulleys, belts and one way are on their way from Hong Kong and should be here soon, then I can concentrate on getting the aluminium steering and wide angle shafts. I think I've bought the wrong compound tyres though, they're MST hardest compound and they are definitely a very slow drift tyre, suppose they will last well considering I drift on Tarmac and concrete, I might try hard or medium compound next time though. The Dark Knight
As you've said, I'd probably go for black wheels but white does look good too. Will you be meshing the front bumper? Really like that body shell
lel-95
yeah i've got some nice tight mesh to go into the bumpers when i can be bothered i want to concentrate on getting it set up and drifting nice before i put time into bodyshells, i prefer running without them most of the time anyway
thatRCguy
Hi,at my local club we use mst hardest on our proper track and then use the softest red dot tyres for street. How does the sakura handle i might get one as there only
lel-95
they handle great, my only gripe was the CS ratio was a bit high for me but thats easy changed. My order from Hong Kong came today so now my CS is 1.54 and i now have a front one way and its made a massive difference, its much more stable and predictable now. 16t rear pulley and 171t belt will reduce the CS to 1.54 for anyone interested in doing so

thatRCguy
how long do the softs last on tarmac? i had a go of my mates MST with the medium compound and it handled brilliant but i'm a bit dubious that the softer compounds wont last long Well i use t drifts mainly in the street had about a year and only about a quarter of the tyre has been used the mst softests are my local clubs control tyre for displays and shows and so on
thatRCguy
Lel,do you like the sakura im thinking of getting one where did you get yours
lel-95
I love it, it's much better now that I've reduced the CS ratio a bit and fitted the front one way. I got mine from RC Geeks as a ready built roller.

lel-95
Small update, it's drifting lovely now with the one way and lower CS. I've changed the belts to bando belts so I shouldn't have any bother with those. I've got the aluminium steering and wide angle shafts in the post which will give me extra steering lock I ordered some more wheels and tyres so now I have a set for Tarmac and a set for my local drift club. I'm going to order a new shell too, I haven't had a lexan shell for ages so I'm not too happy with my painting and cuts on the Subaru, I'd love to get my hands on a tamiya 190E or escort cosworth shell. I hate posting without pics so here's one, it crap but meh!

Lee page
Think a d3 will be my next chassis! His looks rad.
heavyleftthumb
the D3 is a decent chassis, i've got one shelved somewhere, i found the parts a tad fragile and the waiting time for replacements to arrive can be annoying
lel-95
all parts can be bought in the UK now so waiting for parts is no bother
heavyleftthumb
thats a welcome development as wasnt when i used mine, about time it was needed
WreckitRhodey
looking smart bud just think I've sorted the control of my clone now gonna have a play tonight with the lads and see what they think just need the decent motor and esc now, loving the scooby shell aswell im looking for a new one for mine as its too tight on the beemer with the up from motor, might have to buy my self the stock front hubs and arms to do the c-hub delete mod as I can't get the 55* cvds to turn as they're to tight. Starting I bought a roller d3 from RCgeeks as a starting point
lel-95
had a go at fitting the light buckets today, i know i should have masked the lights before painting but i couldn't be bothered. Removed the paint with nail polish remover and got the buckets in, looks better than stickers Also been playing around with shock oil and i've found 30wt front and rear to be a sweet spot, much less understeer now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zT2B3Z8mCA&feature=youtu.be new shell should be here next week along with the light kit
heavyleftthumb
looking great on the shell pal. i do like a good scooby. i found the 30wt about right too. although i had to wind the fronts preload quite a bit to save it bottoming out. is it same with your shocks?
lel-95
yeah the front has about half preload i think. I did swap the springs around though, the rears were stiffer so i put them on the front and it made a huge difference

lel-95
Still need to finish the lights and tidy the wiring, sort out the shell height, cut the post mounts and get rid of the fingerprints. Should get all those done tonight and might even have time for a quick drift
The Dark Knight
If you fancy another body shell, I think I'll be selling my NSX if it's of interest to you? It's still clear but have cut some of the excess trim away.
