Noj
You should have notified Dejan at alza that the conversion was for the 2028, as he would have supplied a mount to fit that can...
Mika
Damn... L
Mika
Can some give me website adress where i can purchase right parts. Obviously center differential kit was useless. Ffffuuuuuuu L
Feedtheinferno
It's not useless, it's just you didn't purchase the correct size for your motor. Why don't you go back to the original supplier of it and ask if they can swap it for the larger mount?
Mika
What about motor mounts? Oh gosh this drives me nuts! Hahahaha L
Feedtheinferno
You are saying the motor is too large for the motor mount correct? You need a mount that fits the large 2080. Or am I missing the problem you are having?
Tug
OK, wrong mount, easily sorted through Dejan, he'll supply the correct one. On here he's under the name "megane". Centre Diff; either strip the diff from the gearbox or get the bits needed to build one from scratch. You'll need a Hellfire 52 tooth spur, or settle for the Vorza 50 tooth. Gearing; I'm still not decided, I'm waiting on a 22 tooth, I'll then be running 22/52. This I'm hoping will work well on 5s. At the moment I'm having to turn down my throttle end point to 60% to stop 5s overheating my ESC, that's on 25/52. With the XL2 you might be OK. I wouldn't even think of running 7 or 8s, you can't gear low enough for that.
Mika
Heres the current setup. Problem is how i fit all this L
Tug
It should look like this. Ignore the motor, that's just for reference.
Mika
Cheers! It seems i have a right parts, except i have to chage few parts spur etc.what about cardan axles? Do u have original or..? L
Tug
Centre dogbones? Both stay stock. Gearing is an issue as the lower you gear it, the closer the motor gets to the rear Centre drive-cup. So you're limited on gearing options, especially with a fat motor which you need in this car. We call that "being stuck between a rock and a hard place"! Mika
Okay. I'll follow your imstructions. Gotta do some notes L
Mika
BTW what centre diff u have? HPI Vorza? Or the stock? L
Tug
I bought the bits and pieces and built a new one, all standard Savvy parts, except the spur, that's a Hellfire 52 tooth spur. This means I still have the stock gearbox, just in case I want to retry using a 1/8 motor.
Mika
Friend bought his Savage Vorza. But he said he drives with 8s... L
Mika
Now. Do i need to chage this? L
Mika
This just don't fit. UGH! I think i need to buy other from Alza. That centre diff is for Savage. L Edited July 26, 2014 by Mi Ka
Tug
That should be the exact same width as the gearbox and slot perfectly between the TVPs.
Mika
But that dont fit. I mean all the screwholes dont match L
Mika
Did you buy that exactly for hpi 5sc flux? L
Tug
Yes, I did, but the screw holes should be generic across all Savvy trucks? The width of the gearbox should be standard too.
Mika
Okay. But this piece goes only other way round. L
