The Dark Knight
Awesome, are you going to be racing GT12.1(modified) or GT12 .2(stock)? Which Savox servo are you looking at? You're probably best getting the Core-rc servo which come with a specific fitting kit for the supastox., that's what I'm running, it's brilliant. Stock tyres are good to start with, use them at your first race and see how the car handles then look at different tyres. Get yourself some shoe goo and run a thin amount around the side wall of the tyres, this will help prevent chunking. The kit only comes with plastic bushes for the wheels, so ordering bearings is worth while. I'd also get the programme card for the Core esc, not essential as some-one else at your club may have one you can use. That's all I can think of just now to get you started
Quantra
Local GT12 racers here think the Core ESC's are a pile of poo. Not sure what they use instead but I can ask some of them on Friday if you like. Will also ask them to elaborate on 'pile of poo' as I know that's not very useful info/advice. 2pricey4u
i can second the core-rc servo as for the core 45 esc its perfectly fine for a beginner if you've got a bit of experience then the hobbywing v3.1 is the esc to have the difference is night and day
The Dark Knight
Nothing wrong with the Core esc, I ran it all last season and finished 2nd at my local club. I'm running well this season too
EpicLURcher
Will be running stockBeen racing tonight, the core esc has a bad reputation at my club, we use handout tranponders and the core escs dont get on well, misses laps, sometimes counts 1 pt as 4, very strange. And that is on 3 different cars, chasiss, other setupThinking about savox 1251, will be from my tourer as im thinking about getting a new one for it
The Dark Knight
A few people at our club run the Core esc, including myself, with no issues. I ran a Savox 1252 in my Mardave last year, I must say that the Core servo is much more suited to GT12. You'll find the Savox spline sits off centre where as the Core servo spline is in the centre. TamiyaM05Mini
Hello, Hows the Supastox going? I have been running mine for best part of year and a half now. I run a much different set up to everyone, maybe you should try it and get used to it. Here it is- Kit Spring set up (Yellow on rear, second move 1 whole outwards from middle, black on front. Set ride height to 5mm. Tyres- Front 42, and rear 32 Tracktite- 3/4 on front, full of rear. Try running the Ferrari (F-Type) shell, best for set up. Everyone at my local club is running hard tyres all round, but when you get used to this, it will work magic. Sam

The Dark Knight
Sam, did you ever try running 13.5 with 1S lipo on the HW Justock esc? The spec is very similar to the Core Pace 45a, just wondering if the HW would work? I've bench tested it and seems ok.
PurcyP
it will brown out all over the place knight, doesnt have a built in booster like the pace 45 does
The Dark Knight
Ok cool, thanks Purcy I just thought the HW may have been a copy of the pace 45 and I have a spare justock.

The Dark Knight
That's a shame, it's a great blinky esc. Have you heard much info about those Skyrc Toro 1S esc's? I've not seen much feedback about them.

The Dark Knight
i got bored of supastox pretty quickly to be honest dunno why. touring for me I was planning on racing my touring car indoors this year as only raced a few rounds indoor last year. But I'm missing my supastox just now, they're so much fun, always had a good laugh when racing the GT12. I found the tourer a bit more challenging indoors. PurcyP
I found it fun for a while but then the same sort of issues that i had with LMP12 started creaking in again for whatever reason i was going through spurs like no bodies business, having issues running 1s and didnt have 2s packs ..etc etc tourings been the only class ive never had an issue with rofl i will be getting into it again after august possibly. The Dark Knight
Only problem I used to have was an occasional chunked tyre and issues with my diff which where partly my fault as I've not had much experience with ball diffs but soon learnt had to build it correctly. I'm venturing out to another club this Friday to race my tourer indoors to try get me in the mood for it, if not, I'll be going GT12 again.
