Edan2013 Posted August 19, 2014 Share Posted August 19, 2014 Hi I brought a new esc and hpi firebolt motor (15t) it worked great until the gears stripped and the gear for the driveshaft broke. Anyway I replaced the whole gearbox including spur gear then it worked fine but the hpi firebolt has begun to get quite hot and so did the esc. But the esc was a lot hotter than the motor. the motor heating up due to the esc heating up or do I need a new motor/esc ? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GRIFKILL Posted August 19, 2014 Share Posted August 19, 2014 It's normal for both to be hot just keep driving until something packs in, You can get a brushless combo (esc and motor) set up these days cheaply with a lipo batt you'll be driving faster. That's like saying my car is making a horrendous noise from the engine I think a 600 mile trip is in order. Can you take the temp of the esc and motor?
