One thing that I did notice on Sunday was that the gap betweeen the system announcing "finish your lap" and "race over" got progressively less as the afternoon went on, to the point where on the last race there one straight after the other.

Its all to do with finishing your last lap, if the last car has just started his last lap, and it takes 27secs to do a lap, itll be 27secs after, if the last car is 3 secs from finishing his lap, after finish your laps is called, which is after 5 mins, itll be a 3sec gap

I don't think it ever gave the last car a chance to do a lap. Might have more to do with the average lap time, perhaps?

Nope, not according to software anyways, you have 5 mins, if your on a lap when 5 mins is up, it gives you chance to finish, if not, then it doesnt

time gap to finish last lap is adjustable, i have it set to approx 30 seconds.
