Ian w
Hi being new to large scale can someone tell me if this Blackout MT clutch looks O/K as it did not seem to release Thanks
atom3624
How's the movement of the shoes? Some have mentioned a packing washer missing at the back - not sure as don't use the standard clutch. Without it, the shoes might not move smoothly. It's also possible, if not releasing, that the spring is worn / stretched - doesn't look bad from the photo. When you replace the bell, are you saying that its binding - clutch bell not able to spin freely with the engine off? Al.
Feedtheinferno
Ian, it look's like the bolts have come loose on the clutch and allowed one side of the shoe to engage. If you pop it into hungerford this afternoon I will help you sort it? It will take 10-15mins tops Edited July 30, 2014 by Feedtheinferno
Ian w
Nick I think I have answred my own question one shoe moves and snaps back into place the other wont I could sort it if I could get the bolts undone but they wont shift. Where will you be??
Feedtheinferno
You know the industrial estate you first met up with us? If you are coming out of there go left rather than the right we took and the second right almost straight after is the street I live on, drive to the top of the street and you will see my A6 parked on my drive. I'll be in my house I have a piston stopper we can use but I will show you other ways to stop the piston if you have the problem again and you don't have a stopper with you. RCbutcher
I tightend my bolt yesterday by pushing a plastic rod into the fan bit on the back and cranked the nut until the plastic rod snapped I doubt its tight enough but I wouldn't want to put metal there. Doing that explained why my old marder had broken fan blades tho thats what made me use something much weaker than the blades. My issue isnt resolved tho I don't think, ill find out when I figure out how the fg lay shaft is supposed to slot together properly. Martyn_T
My Blackout seems to get pretty hot and will just stop for a while. Once it cools down it starts up again without a problem. (Unless it is raining I suppose ;-) )
RCbutcher
It looks like it's struggling off the line was that full throttle from neutral of rolling on the throttle?
Ian w
It looks like it's struggling off the line was that full throttle from neutral of rolling on the throttle? Yeah that was a full throttle start it still needs some tuning. I`ve not been out with it since then. Also found the breather hole in the cap was blocked. Just realised that was a month ago got to get my arse in gear and get out with it again

sean-vrs
the rear section had to be "adjusted" with a hammer for a better angle and closer fit to the front section

This is mine I upgraded the springs on my clutch and it feels a lot better now Only 2 things I can see mine needing is some mud gaurds and possibly some better servos Mine started cutting out but couldn't find out what it was Changed plug and up'd the idle and was ok after
