XV Pilot Posted June 8, 2014 Share Posted June 8, 2014 40 quid should get you a reasonable used Tamiya Mad Bull on Ebay. At 1:10 scale it is bigger than 1:18, but very tough and a lot better on rough terrain, so there would be more places to play with it. Also easy to work on, and cheap to get parts for, so restoring a ropey one would be easy enough. It is quite light and bouncy for its size, and if it collides with anything, it is usually one of the big rubber tyres or the springy plastic front bumper that hits first, so it tends not to damage itself or the object it hits in a collision.
