Trip out with the Big Rock. Wheel/stub fell off but thankfully I had tools to repair in situ. Worse part was watching the wheel roll away in a woodland and out of sight. Thankfully I found it fairly quickly and I took it all apart when I got back and re-added some thread-lock on both rear stubs.

Surely someone buying that many must be up to something a bit dodge when it comes to winning something worth not much more than they have put in!? Stolen credit cards??? I don't really have a big issue with these though and in my personal opinion I find it more crazy how many people play the national lottery every single week.

I am a sucker for any RC buggies in this style but so far the YouTube reviews have been really positive compared to a lot of other stuff at this kind of price.

Installed the new Quicrun G2 combo into the old man's Outlaw. ESC held in with a zip tie until I see him next as he kept the body and I want to make sure it doesn't touch anywhere.

It has been a while but I think my experience was similar in that the parts just appeared one day without any kind of despatch email and it did take a little longer than I expected.

Thanks, I was ripping around on a very grippy road surface which I dont usually run on (was showing car to nephew). Stock ones do seem good but I started to look for alternatives as they have been out of stock at DMS for a little while.

Trip out with the Big Rock. First run since I put Granite wheels and tyres on and they seem to much better than the stock ones. Think these should have come with these in the first place, just feels more planted than before.

How about a check-in for anyone who posted in here. Have to say for me it was a tick against doing a build (BHC-1) but a fail so far on a new spot to run cars. The main issue I find is that a great bash spot = many, many, many dogs or at least in my local area. Have tried going early/late and obscure times but there are always lots about. Oh and a big fail on selling any but in my defence I have only gained 1 x vehicle since I started the thread.

Any PTG-2 owners have any recommendations for wheels with tyres? Stock ones dont seem to last for that long and start to split from my experience. Had a tyre blow as well at the weekend on a fairly mild brushless system.

Got out early with it which was nice as it has been quite a few weeks since I did any RC. Local woodland has a few jumps which I assume are thanks to some keen mountain bikers. I am still not great at air control but it came back with 0 breakages so a success in my book. Oh I can only jump left to right as well for some reason and right to left jumps are a big nope 🤣

To reply to myself I am now going down the new 10BL120 combo route but when it comes from going brushed to brushless, am I looking for the 17t or 23t ally mount?

With the current increase of prices of pretty much everything, what is a good motor/esc combo for these? Not my car but a family member wants to go brushless as a birthday present. Looking for something fairly mild to try and keep the Outlaw in one piece. Not sure if Hobbywing is overkill but then the cheaper stuff doesnt look as cheap these days.

Would 3S be pushing the motor too much? Usually goodfor another 5-10mph I would guess if it can take it.

Some new shoes for the Big Rock. Was surprised how big they were and always thought the Granite ones were quite a bit smaller.

DR8 is fixed back up so a trip out to my current favourite dusty spot. Then drove to a new location which looked ok but has too much grass clippings.

Any EMB series experts on here with ideas on servo options for the EMB range? The stock Batan D115F in my EMB-TG has died and I wondered whether there was a better option or a different mount that can take 2 x mount hole servos?

Dont suppose anyone knows the stock shock oil weight is for the front/rear on these? I did ask FTX but they said they didnt know..... 🤔

Broke it somehow. No jumps or big crashes so not sure if this is a weak spot of the DR8? I broke the front 2 shocks last year but that was driving full pelt down a hole in a field I didn't spot so wasn't surprised about that occasion. Thankfully I had already run 1 x pack and was nearly through the 2nd when I noticed the handling was odd and saw this so not a total bust.

Not familiar with Traxxas chargers but are the balance leads on the battery/charger looking ok? Do you have a multimeter you could test the total voltage on the ESC plug side rather than relying on the balance cables?

Managed to get a couple packs through the Big Rock first thing. Loving the dry dusty weather at the moment.

Few hours to myself this morning so went out with the DR8 again, and fancied a bit of rallying. Little bit dusty to say the least but so much fun.
