  1. Today I used some bits I found laying around to attach a front wing of sorts to the VSe. I used some FTX carnage turnbuckles, a 3D printed plate and an old wing. Think I’m gonna need to trim it slightly to allow steering without the risk of fouling the wheels in full lock. Otherwise, it’s pretty stable and slightly adjustable. Being FTX parts, I imagine one gentle collision and it’ll be in a million pieces, but it’s gonna be interesting to see if it’s made a difference with the overall stability of the buggy.
  2. I got almost the exact same lot a little while back. Getting to grips with the crimp tool took a few attempts, but got there in the end. Fantastic tool 👍🏻
  3. It’s gonna be a rece between the 3 of us as I’ve not managed 100mph yet either. Although maths suggest mine is geared up and capable of. - I just need the correct conditions (and to grow a pair!) The industrial estate we went to recently is definitely suitable and is a good option. Will be good to try out your spot next though
  4. I’ve just replaced all the wheel bearings in my VSe and ordered some shims to take some of the excessive tyre wobble out. you’ll do well to keep up with @Suits and his 8s setup, that things gonna go like the clappers🚀
  5. That motor 😳🤯😎 doesn’t look like it’s gonna be short of power. Very nice 👍🏻
  6. fully equipped now! Can’t wait for the next meet to see all this in action. More batteries too 👍🏻😁
  7. Could try another tx/rx if you have one to rule out any potential issues there. Otherwise, my guess would be the esc.
  8. Okay, Thanks. Will see what I can find!
  9. After a quick look online, I can’t seem to find anything thicker than the 20 million cst oil from traxxas. Would you be able to point me in the right direction please?
  10. Welcome back! I’ve recently been working on my Xmaxx. There’s a dedicated thread if you haven’t already stumbled across it. You should be able to find some answers to your questions there: I’m running 46/22 gearing with stock motor. I have found I needed to upgrade the esc to stop heat issues. a word of advice; don’t be tempted to use the self right function - your tyres will tear themselves apart!! Otherwise, they’re awesome fun 😁
  11. Had a few people say this on here. I’m not sure if it’s something I do wrong? I’ve never uploaded to YouTube. I’ll take a look and let you know if I manage it…
  12. I landed all the others. Honest 🤥 yikes, 50 mil! Okay, I’m gonna order something a little thicker to see if it helps
  13. Ha, yeah I’m yet to break anything on it too?! They’re proper tough, I mean it’s taken some real abuse. Apart from the shell, the chassis cleans up like new. Amazing bits of kit
  14. Had a blast today. New max 5 did the trick. No heat problems at all. I did have a bad landing (in the video below) though, which snapped one of the cable ties holding the esc in place. Esc moved and dislodged motor cables 🤦🏼‍♂️ Easy enough fix. Will use more ties and make sure it doesn’t budge again. IMG_7823.MOV
  15. Meh, fair enough. To be honest I saw a video on YouTube of a guy servicing and he claimed that it’s a known thing the diffs aren’t filled with oil so they should be topped up even if not adjusted. Im happy with mine as it, but I noticed the new Louise wheels have started to show signs of coming off the rims. Only the fronts though. I assume this is a result of them spinning up a bit when losing traction, but it was only a hunch. Just as likely my driving is causing it.
  16. This has likely been covered already, but please could I get some opinions on what diff oil to use on all three in the Xmaxx. I’m thinking the middle diff needs to be made thicker as fronts are spinning up a bit. 20m is standard I believe, but just wondering if others have adjusted or stuck with stock setup. Thanks.
  17. Old Xmaxx esc fitted to Jav with new 1650kv HW motor. Today is gonna be a good one 😁
  18. Gone all out Max5 innit 😎 was going to attempt to fit in original esc location, but after spending at least 5 seconds contemplating, I decided against it. EBay mount for FTW.
