  1. That’s quite impressive/eye wateringly painful πŸ˜‚
  2. Both my daughters at work - house to myself! Except I’m baby sitting my niece today it appears 🀐😁 Still she’s pretty nifty with this crawling lark and she’s having a nap now, so I’m sat on my backside recovering and praying she has another 5 minutes kip πŸ˜‚
  3. I thought I’d try rear steering, because I could. Turnbuckle lash up, and plenty of heat shrink where the servo lead passes in the spur gear. I wonder how useful it is out and about! I figured out FTX parts are half the price of Maverick bits too.
  4. So chassis built with a hobbywing 1060 in forward/reverse mode and a 55t crawler motor, and yup she still wheelies!
  5. Cracking videos there @walkbythesea πŸ‘
  6. Cheers, interesting to know πŸ‘
  7. Hellhorn is the titanium rodding expensive as a bare metal?
  8. Half ton Willys Jeep: https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1950-willys~jeep-4~73-1!2_ton
  9. I have that motor in my TT02, seems quite a torquey thing compared to a stock silver can. I really should get a proper crawler πŸ˜‚ IMG_1674.MP4
  10. 4th one the same πŸ‘ Postal charge is still heavy, but if the parts are cheap/unusual it all works out.
  11. RcMart parcel arrived (without charges!) I have the marching PS yellow, and a body set for those wheels I just need a chassis now for it. The fetching plastic alloys are from the Isuzu Mu.
  12. Having had a mooch of this thread - thanks to @Yrkoon for the tip off πŸ‘ - I have a question, for generally larking about does a Pumpkin need a forward/ reverse ESC rather than a forward/brake/reverse ESC? As a kid the delight of full throttle reverse, then slamming full throttle forward was particular pastime for the 1980’s version of me. The smell of a burning mechanical speed control and resistor aside, I never killed a gearbox 😁 I’m building a Pumpkin for my niece and I wonder what is the best option, any ESC or maybe a 1060 or a Mtroniks ESC might oblige. Any thoughts?
  13. A treat for my niece πŸ‘ from Timetunnel.
  14. I’m with you on the cost front πŸ‘ Plumbers merchant for a nylon washer?
  15. How many mm do you need? What about this? I’m interested because I have a Holmes 550 crawler motor here too! https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/431763
  16. Wheel weights and 15mm shorter springs - Lunchbox ones from JK-RC. Wonder if they will make a positive or negative difference, regardless it’s dropped 12mm!
  17. Spent far to long pulling a RTR cheapie apart! However all 4 tyres face the same way now, all 8 links are moved in as far as they will go, put 30w damper oil in, extra preloaded right rear shock (to stop it crawling with a lurch), changed the transmitter, greased the gearbox (dry), red n tacky greased both axles (a pinch of factory grease in here!), dry lubed the prop joints, heatshrinked the servo cable and of course scuffed the shell up πŸ˜‚ if only the wheel weights had arrived 🀐 It really is far better than its price tag suggests πŸ‘
  18. Something to be investigated here..... cheers πŸ‘
  19. So in layman's terms, more runtime than NIMH, lower weight, but without the LIPO charging grief?
  20. Just some paint dear 😁 Thought I’d try out crawling economically before I bet suckerd into a Β£500 rabbit hole! Which of course will happen if I enjoy it!
  21. That looks just fantastic πŸ‘ The Will Gollop livery is my favourite 6R4, probably helped by seeing the real thing at Brands Hatch for the Rallycross. What wheelbase is it?
  22. Scrim tape and flexible adhesive sorted too. I know I’m going to wince the first time I see it barrel rolling due to my lack of talent 😁
  23. New basher body, almost feel guilty using it 😁 Tried out the Olfa cutter I bought ages ago - score, snip, snap. I’m sure I can balls part of the trimming up though πŸ˜‚
