  1. Did you get hit by customs in the end?
  2. I wonder how wide it is? I love the range rover hardbodies but they seem to be for 200mm wide, all the usual crawling suspects are much wider! https://club5racing.com/land-rover-discovery-1-hard-body-313mm-w-free-metal-emblem/
  3. Experimented with an unusual battery source… see here:
  4. So I picked up a new drill recently, but it got me thinking….. 18V charger would also charge a 12V battery - which low and behold was actually a 10.8 3S! I have had success using lithium ION batteries, but they are odd shapes sizes and cost a fortune. But they need zero looking after or discharging. So armed with nothing else but gut instict and 47 years of stupidity, I hit ebay up 😂 £13.50 got a nice new 4A charger delivered £15.99 got a nice fake Dewalt 5Ah lithium copy battery £8.30 got a charging ‘shoe’ for said battery with fly leads attached (the black plastic ones were dearer!) £37.80 experiment it was! The fly leads soldered nicely to an XT60 plug, and some how the battery wedged nicely in the tray AND the shell locked down to its normal position (I have a low CG tray fitted, not a standard Traxxas one please note!) I added a long velcro strap and plugged all in. These batteries come in various heights (Ah dependent) so a 2Ah would be a lot lower, a 6Ah higher. SAFETY NOTE: In the interests of H&S I stood as far away as possible, stretched my finger (with both eyes closed) and pressed the power button. The Hobbywing bleeped happily - EUREKA no flames 🤣 So went for a test drive. The intention was a gentle trail run, however you know on Top Gear where Jeremy grows horns and shouts POWAHHH well that happened instead. Donuts, jumps full throttle reverse in full throttle forward wheelies for 5 minute’s. After that a pensioner with 3 unleashed dogs gave me dirty glance and I calmed down. Nothing appeared to be on fire or melting, motor seemed happy (I am low geared as a TRX4 will go however) and I kept on the trail to the muddy wet stagnant bit…. Where the poor old thing behaved impeccably if somewhat filthy! I did have to use a fair bit of throttle though to get out the swamp and subsequently 10 minutes later all 5A of fake Dewalt battery had ran out of charge. So all told 45 minutes of careless battery use till it ran till flat. Experiment over I carried the now 3 times as heavy stinking thing back to the car. No low voltage alarms here, so who knew if the battery would take charge again! I plugged it and left it whilst I washed and oiled the truck up. And you know what it bloody did charge back up 🤠 YEE HAAHH redneck RC rules 🤣 So there you go, a drill battery will run an RC your mileage may vary 👍
  5. Had it myself a few years back - again I always sent recorded or registered and strangely my furious buyers disappeared just like yours 😉
  6. @BigGinge It only gets better and dearer 😉 My youngest daughter is 21 now and takes me to the pub 🤣 enjoy it all, lap it and dont worry you’ve done anything wrong - follow your instinct’s 👍
  7. Quality control there! Missing as not fitted or missing as destroyed?
  8. You seem to be having a good crack, I’d be chuffed with those results 👍
  9. Been after some T shape hex keys for a while but every long handle set I grappled had the wrong feel in the hand, or felt great but cost ridiculous amounts! An American forum recommended these Eklind as good quality honesty to god keys and they seem pretty good for £22 delivered. Have a bit of flex in them, but should counteract any over tightening. (2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6mm set).
  10. If its not there first ebay spurious activity tip ebay off 👍
  11. More videos set to Debbie Harry please 😎
  12. Elite models do that, use them if nobody else has it, best to ring them……
  13. Looks ace - I hope you thrash the living daylights out of it 👍
  14. @oodboo What wheels tyres are you running, really like the look of them 😎
  15. A fair review here on the Scale Builder Guild, and a side by side shot - it is dinky!
  16. Does it need wider rims? Is it a 200mm shell or is the picture distorting things?
  17. That looks lovely - be intrigued to see a Element side by side photo.
  18. Cheers gents, I’m tempted to build a Sunday best one for trailing with a hardbody and use this one as intended! Just ordered some new bearings which obviously means the existing ones will all be fine….!
  19. So the day started off carefully…. And ended up messy 🤣 I got stuck plenty - damm you wet surfaces 🤬😂 I’ve been spoiled all summer with dry dusty grip everywhere! Poor things since been rinsed and soaked in GT85, but so far thats it maintenance wise no graunching or breakages yet, touch wood. I have a new motor in the post to make the most of the low gear and I think I will swap the bearings out when it arrives too as a cheap precaution.
