  1. Due to poor weather conditions I wasn't able to get any footage over the weekend. I did manage to get out with the car at one of my local parks on sunday, but for literally 10 minutes. The ground was just too wet & muddy. Completely sodden. So I decided to cut my run short, head home, and proceeded to spend the next 2 hours cleaning it. After a 10 minute run. D'oh Fortunately the weather has been a bit better this past couple of days, and I had the day off work today 😁 ...which doesn't happen often! So, we ventured out into the cold this morning, and with the help of 'cameragirl' we managed to get some decent clips of the ZD. And with my poor editing skills i've managed to put together a little video for you lot. Filmed mostly on the roads nearby our house, and a couple of short clips on the village green. A brief offroad test. It was quite icy out there today but this truggy seems to handle it really well. The tyres have a solid amount of grip (considering how wet it still was) especially on grass which you can see in the final few clips of the video. So I ran it on my 3S Zop Power 4500mah 45c lipo first, and then switched to my 4S Zeee 5200mah 50c. I hope you enjoy watching. Side note: Forgot to mention this in the video, but the reason why the wing isn't fitted is because they supplied incorrect washers (the holes are too big so the heads of the screws provided go straight through 🙄).
  2. Ah shame, the Hobao would've looked cool sliding across the surface of the pond, just pray to god the ice doesn't crack underneath it, aha. Awesome bud I look forward to the video
  3. Great picture mate 👍 and you're right, it's bloody freezing today! But at least it's dry, cold & crisp, pretty good weather for RC's i've found. How did it handle on the ice?
  4. Hey Jason, welcome to the forum mate. The 144001's are awesome little buggies
  5. Thank you mate, I hope so too 😄 Yep, all available on Banggood & Aliexpress
  6. Cheers AJ 👍 Here's a link to the thread I just made for who ever may be interested:
  7. Thanks man 👍 You can get all of the spares/upgraded parts on Banggood & Aliexpress. Thank you mate 🙂
  8. This is my new 1/8th scale truggy. A purchase that i'd been considering for a good few weeks before taking the plunge. I think I made a good choice though, as these cost only a little more than I paid for my FTX Carnage, but with this you get A LOT more for your money. So here it is, the ZD Racing Pirates V3 (bit of a silly name... not quite as bad as WL Toys models 😋) Comes with some nice chunky wheels/tyres! & a rebranded DumboRC transmitter. Nice 😁 Nice aluminum chassis And it's fairly thick too. Here's a comparison with my house key which is about 4mm. Looks very nice under the shell. These pictures don't do it justice really but the anodized orange bits look superb 👌 As you can see it also comes included with a 5000mah 3s lipo. Not too bad. This next pic is a size comparison with said lipo to show that the motor is a rather fat can. Pleasantly surprised about that 🙂 Time to fit the wheels & rear wing. I think she looks mean! Specs: 120A brushless sensorless ESC 4068 2000KV brushless sensorless motor 9kg large torque servo 46T Spur gear Car Size: 550*430*205mm Wheelbase :370mm Tread: 270mm Ground Clearance: 80mm Total Gear Ratio: 12.95:1 Tyres: Diameter: 145mm Width: 69mm Hub Inner Diameter 87mm Hex Adapter 17mm Weight: Around 4.6kg So there you have it. I'm very pleased with it all so far. Time will tell how good/bad the quality of everything really is but from what I can tell this RC is great value for money. I've had a short test drive (15 minutes or so). Half of that was on the included 3s, the other half on my new Zeee 4s lipo. Now she's no slouch running on the less powerful battery but to really bring her to life she needs those extra 3.7v. Good for 50mph I reckon. If it's dry enough then I will get some footage over the weekend. Stay tuned
  9. @Gampla I have also been wondering why you type it out every post, or why it looks like you do. I guess it must be something to do with the fact that you're using mobile & for some reason the signature setting isn't working correctly. Also a couple of posts above this one it's actually missing so not sure what happened there... Anyway try logging into your account on a PC and edit your signature from there and I reckon that will sort it out and it will start appearing in the right place 👍 @Oh How Original I use Zop Power lipos and I think for the price of them you will really struggle to find anything better. I can't guarantee how good they will be long-term as i've only had them for months rather than years, but so far they've balanced perfectly on every charge and they pack a lot of punch & have long run times, (as in they are actually the MAH that they state unlike some other cheap batteries). I did a good bit of research before decided which brand I would go for and The Zops have great reviews from pretty much everyone that's used them. I just got a 4s Zeee lipo as well and at 5200mah & 50c for £38 I would say that it's also very good value, but as i've only had it a day I of course can't really comment on how it performs.
  10. Well it's a day late but my new RC arrived today It's a ZD Racing Pirates V3 truggy. A Banggood special but from what ive seen a pretty good one. Already given it a quick test run. It goes quite well on 3s, and ballistic on 4s. I'll be making a dedicated thread about it in a little while in the buggies & truggies section, with lots more details & lots more pics if anyone is interested.
  11. Ooo, nice parts 😍 This is an awesome build you got going on here mate. I look forward to seeing it take shape!
  12. Haha, good video mate. I love the nut shot right at the beginning 😂 I have one of these myself and i'm surprised to see yours take some of the crap you put it through. Nice one
  13. I shall keep you updated on how it performs as soon as I get a chance to test it. Hopefully this weekend, weather permitting 🤞
  14. My new 4s lipo arrived today. Ready for the new RC that's arriving tomorrow... 😁 She's a hefty one!
  15. Hello mate, welcome to the forum. I used to have a Rush Evo quite a while back... it was my first hobby grade RC. Great little basher actually. Hope you have fun with the T-Maxx
  16. Glad that you got it all working mate On your transmitter you should have a couple of sliding buttons, left for normal & right for reverse. One is for the throttle and one for the steering, try switching them the opposite way and see if that fixes the problem for you
  17. Very nice 👍. Looks like your project is coming together really well, and those axles are a work of art 👌
  18. Awesome video mate That place looks like crawler heaven
  19. Cheers fella 👍 And that's a shame mate, hopefully you get some dry days up there soon
  20. It was a wee bit slidey out there today..... is my excuse for that 😜
  21. Took the Carnage out for a bash today, running on 3s. Conditions weren't great. Very autumnal. A bit wet & muddy with a thick covering of leaves, but the FTX performed well. So I put a few of the clips together for a short video.
  22. Got a few clips with the Carnage today. Conditions weren't great. A bit wet & muddy with a thick covering of leaves, but the FTX on 3s plowed on through like it was nothing 😋
  23. I think they are a great choice as your first 'bigger' RC (though they're quite small, but not compared to your 1/24th models). They're pretty fast & quite capable for their size. Certainly a good starting point due to their ease of use. Spend some time getting used to driving a 1/14th scale buggy and you will be much more prepared for when you inevitably move up to a 10th/8th scale model 😉 I'll be free towards the end of next week, and throughout the weekend if you fancy driving over. I've taken a screenshot from Google Maps for you & circled the spot i'm talking about: It's not really designed to handle rough terrain, but it can handle some. It will be much better suited to those BMX tracks than your 24th scale models but again I wouldn't recommend using it as a stunt car as parts can break fairly easily. Now a 10th scale truggy/monster truck is going to be much better for that purpose, but the TA RC10 that you mentioned is more of a racing model so won't hold up too well to bashing. I have an FTX Carnage which is also a 1/10th scale brushless truggy, but it sits a lot higher, has longer suspension travel and much bigger wheels & soft tyres, so is suited more for bashing. And it's seriously quick too when running a 3s lipo! There's a plenty of choice when it comes to buying one but I would say start off with a WL Toys or something similar. See how you get on with it, and then decide if you want to get something bigger to take on bigger obstacles. Also you don't need to spend tons of money. £150 - £250 will get you a decent 1/10th scale model. You're welcome mate
  24. Good video dude 👍 Enjoyed that one. That Summit looks like good fun on 4s
