  1. I largely agree with regards to people and attitude, with the exception that you're more likely to come across people who can construct a sentence that is actually legible on the forums, and more likely to come across garbled mess of letters on Facebook. I'm in all the facebook groups that seem relevant, but would be interested to know any good ones. I think the main difference is the medium, and its significance can't really be downplayed. If you go on Facebook groups you have no option but to scroll through countless people's photos of Scale Land Rovers tilted over a rock in slightly muddy conditions. Literally, hundreds of them a day. In fact if you don't sit and mess around with your notifications for each group, you get 80 notifications an hour about scale Defenders. Now I can appreciate that people are enjoying the hobby and want to share it with like minded people, but for someone who is just trying to find out where the local racetracks, good bashing locations, or meets are, or ask an occasional question about parts/cars... and uses Facebook primarily to keep in touch with family... It's turns Facebook into a huge mess of noise that becomes impossible to navigate. On the forums I just ignore sub-forums and threads I'm not interested in.
  2. Just checking all the Tekno parts are MT410 compatible? The Kraton parts are for the 6s? (looks that way from model numbers) Are they all new? (they look new in the pics) I'm probably interested in quite a few items, but just checking the above first. Is there any discount/negotiation available for ordering multiple items together, or are the prices firm?
  3. Which I don't understand. Finding useful information amongst the guff on Facebook is near enough impossible.... at least for me. Be interested to know if there is some tricks im missing.
  4. Yeah, no end point adjustment is not ideal. Feel free to commandeer my thread if you want to chat about experiences more: I really should do a full update of my experiences and upgrades.
  5. I have V3 so the Radio system is ok... can't really comment on the Spectrum, but everyone says the same thing. The servo is underpowered for sure it's definitely still usable for a couple of light bashes before you swap it out. The mount is a bit pants too, but not desperately in need of changin. You definitely notice the difference when swapping to something beefier, e.g. 20-25KG. They are honestly pretty tough so stock you will probs find it's fine. I only put RPM rear arms on for the mud guards, which has worked wonders, but they need sanding down to fit correctly with newer diff housings Anyway... I'm just repeating all the stuff in my Kraton thread... and im still really a noob myself.
  6. Yeah for sure. I'd probably recommend re-building the diffs with some shims after a couple of runs on 6S and changing the oil for something heavier in the middle to prevent turning the tyres into pizza cutters and splitting them from the wheel. I've rebuilt all mine now and can give you pretty specific part numbers to get... should really post my spreadsheet online.
  7. I also have one in the post after what people were saying about it... it's pretty darned cheap
  8. Cool! Looking forward to your thoughts.
  9. It appears whilst drunk at the weekend (was my birthday), I accidentally bought a Tekno MT410

Mate, you do you: i just presented what i personally would do. I just bought an 8s RC, my next one probably will be something 4s as well, got enough packs now. :D

I was planning to have to do that anyway.

i really want to be able to “drive” this more than the Kraton given it’s pedigree and reputation, whereas the Kraton I’m happy to launch it on my local field, nose drive it, and have to pull it apart again.

I think perhaps 4s, maybe even try sensored. Might try a good quality sensored motor, and a cheapo thrashing motor for 6, then a couple of pinions and see how it works out.

  10. I’ve just had delivery of a few zop power 4s and 3s 5500mah batteries, but so far haven’t had the opportunity to try them out. first charge of them is definitely going to be done outside on an extension lead at the back of the garden just to be sure. i can say that they took an age to arrive, so long I half wonder if there is a bloke currently riding his courier cycle back to China...
  11. I backed out. I ordered one but then looked at CML and there was almost no parts available so sent it back before I built it. Lot of stories in here of people selling them as they spend more time on a shelf than driving. Went for a Kraton instead and have only had to wait a couple of days for most things I've needed. Spent a fortune on upgrades parts and options. Had it apart enough times to know how to build it blindfolded so not really missed a build experience. I'm not saying don't get one, it's an awesome truck by all accounts, but it doesn't seem like a great "daily" basher, especially if it's your only MT.
  12. Please post up your experiences, would be really interested to know how they stack up!
  13. I'm not sure the Hong Kong post suspension list is a particularly accurate barometer for the global political and economic spectrum mate. It's probably just some kind of terrorism/tariff/brexit issue that will be resolved in due course.
  14. After all the talk of Zop lipos I thought I would give them a go, ordered some 3s and 2s soft ones and nothings arrived so far... Getting close to the end of the delivery window and me requesting a refund. [emoji3525]
  15. I mean, information about the infrastructure aside (which I was asking about), that's essentially what I was saying all along, so I'm a bit confused why people were treating me like I was being somehow obtuse. [emoji2371]
  16. As in I'm not going to be an early adopter of a new platform. Wait until there are reviews and a bit of experience... Just like any product of any kind in the world ever...
  17. Guess we just have to wait and see what happens then! I certainly won't be one of the early guinea pigs though.
  18. Do you have a link to the "Titan"? I cant find it I said "almost" carbon copy.... but probably not really what I mean. I'm not saying people should or shouldn't do anything, if anything I'm looking for reasons that we should want to buy this, not reasons that would should avoid it, I'm just struggling to see whatt he circumstances are that it would make more sense to buy the Corally than an Arrma, when they seem incredibly similar in both appearance and structural design, barring a few key upgrades.

    SOLD

Will offer £50 and can pay today
  20. Yeah I get that, but at the end of the day they want us to actually buy it, but how many of us are going to buy a truck that is clearly designed to be bashed, and an almost carbon copy of a well supported design, until we see a reasonable spares network? As mydoddy said, it took for Horizon to buy Arrma for them to be well supported, and if someone is going to go out and buy a truck tomorrow, do you recommend they buy the Corally? I guess it all comes back to the point that I don't really understand why they have lined them up so closely to the Arrma counter parts. All they had to do is change the shell and the name enough to differentiate themself, I guess we wouldn't be having this conversation.
  21. Thanks for the info. I guess the question is, do they have the logistical capacity to compete with Horizon and Arrma? Could be a bit of a chicken and egg, people don't commit to spending £400+ on a truck as there spare situation isn't great, so Corally don't commit to the spares market.
  22. Maybe they'll bring one out and you can spend the best part of £490 [emoji16]
  23. Seems bizarre to make something different... but the same... I don't really get why they wouldn't just make a different RC car.... I just had a look at wheelspin who seem to be stocking them (Kronos) and they're basically the same price (Kraton). Unless the Corally offers something more that makes their product worthwhile, I think I would pay the ~£10 and get the guaranteed parts availability of an Arrma.
