  1. That’s looking good. 👌 You have a favourite crawling spot locally? I spend a lot of time up in Musbury heights quarry, just because it’s walking distance, but always on the lookout for good spots.
  2. As well as missing this thread, I also missed the news about the arrival of your baby (littleGinge???). Always late to the party, but many congratulations! I hope baby is thriving and you and Mrs Ginge aren’t losing too much sleep.👍
  3. Thanks @Douge one, that’s a great vid. 👍
  4. Agreed. I thought it might be safer to remove the original electronics altogether, rather than risk overheating a 20 year old ESC (no idea how reliable they were back then?). I think I’ve got a 1060 ESC somewhere and I have a cheap transmitter/receiver I’m not using. Then if he wants it back I can just put the original equipment back in. Might do the same with the wheels/tyres.
  5. You had one? So am I right, was it intended for indoor use? As you’ve worked on one, what do you think of Stormys suggestion to raise the suspension? Is that do-able? Or would it be a bit sacrilegious to use it outdoors? I can’t see that drive belt standing up to too much gravel and muck. I don’t want to be that guy who ****ed up a piece of RC history 🤣
  6. I had a similar thought. Plus the stock wheels are tiny, so maybe a set of slightly larger wheels with rally blocks might help with ground clearance too?
  7. So here’s an interesting one. This should probably be in the vintage section, but as nobody has posted in there for two years I thought it might get overlooked. Are any of you familiar with this model and able to offer advice/tips, or just any useful background info? There’s a bloke at work who’s occasionally shown a mild interest in my RC cars. Then one day he brings this toolbox into work and gives it to me. Inside is an old Schumacher touring car. Circa late 90’s, early 2000’s I think? Haven’t done much research on the car itself yet and the guy himself didn’t seem to know much about it either. Apparently he bought it locally and the local model shop built it for him. I vaguely know the guy who built it, called Richard Stiles, an ex professional large scale racer I believe. Really knows his stuff, so I imagine it was tweaked to perfection at the time. For it’s day, this thing must have been really top spec, Carbon fibre chassis, alloy parts. It has an old skool tx/rx with a crystal thingy in it, and even has a long dead ni-cad still strapped to it. As far as I can see, just briefly looking over it, the only things wrong with it are a stripped spur gear and the front bumper has been rotted by an old AA battery that had welded itself to it. Assuming I’m looking at the right parts, both are still available at about £5 each. I’m just not sure what to do with it as the guy (is a tad eccentric and very hard to get a straight answer to any question….. ever) hasn’t actually said he’s given it to me, but has refused any money and then said he’s unlikely to ever want it back (unlikely isn’t never). So I’m reluctant to spend any actual money on it. I might invest a tenner in the spur and bumper foam, plus I have a cheap 2.4ghz tx/rx I could use, and a 2s lipo…. Hmmmm. 🤔 But where would I run it? I’m guessing it’s intended for indoor use as it has about 3mm ground clearance. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts folks.😄
  8. Welcome to the forum Dave. Condolences for your loss. Good luck in your search for like minded souls. 👍
  9. Somehow managed to miss this thread. What a great idea! Got me to thinking🤔….. I have a TT02 that I’ve only ever really used a few times. Was supposed to be a speed runs project with a stupidly overpowered (for a relatively stock TT02), brushless system in it, but I’ve struggled to find anywhere long enough or flat enough for it to achieve its full potential. It only needs to hit a pea sized bit of gravel at 35mph and it’s cartwheeling down the road before it’s really got going. (I got it to 38mph but that was on a public road on a quiet Sunday morning). As you can see, (AA battery for scale), it has very little ground clearance in its current form. There’s a car park across road from me but it needs resurfacing and is covered in a generous dusting of gravel, so is useless for speed runs….. but ideal for bazzing about with a rally car?!? Apparently its relatively easy to get extra ground clearance by flipping the suspension arms. I’m thinking a set of rally wheels, a new shell, and swap back to the silver can and I’m good to go?
  10. Someone just round the corner from my Mums house owns an interesting Landy.
  11. Some bits of metal. I plan to make some brackets and a pair of homemade rock sliders which I could probably buy cheaper and better made online.
  12. Not today exactly, this took a while, but made a drunk driver for the Enduro. There is real whiskey in that bottle 🤪 Used a Tamiya holiday buggy driver figure as a base and modified it slightly. Probably too much time and effort for something that you can hardly see when the car is running but it kept me occupied for a few evenings.
  13. Ouch! Consign that to the "maybe one day" list then.😠
  14. Went out for a test run after some repairs. Broke it again. It was doing ok right up til it broke. ( Just a loose servo link. Easy fix)
  15. Took it out for a little run yesterday. Seemed fine and looked “right”, but I think you are right. I will have a fiddle about and change it to 0° sometime soon. Unless someone else who knows about these things tells me otherwise. I have to take it apart anyway as the servo link detached itself…again. (Thankfully just as I was about to go home anyway).
  16. I have a few, but my Spektrum is the best of the lot.
  17. I think this was meant to be a dustpan for a dolls house? With the help of some plastic rod I turned it into a shovel to put on the back of my Enduro. Not sure why. Needs more painting.
  18. Thanks. I have mine with slight toe in now, but suspect parallel is the correct setting 🤔
  19. Bit cruel using a cat to clean your RC
  20. I want the green one. 1/10? RTR? (Hope its available as a kit 🤞) Won't be cheap though.
