  1. I’m pretty sure FTX bodys are made of eggshell
  2. Actually got this lot a few days ago. It’s all been in the house for a while but I was banned from opening any of it. “If you want RC parts for your birthday, you can wait til your birthday “ Element enduro inner fenders, Ford Ranger shell, paint, wheels, foams, tyres.😁
  3. I reckon I might actually make this! Looking forward to it.
  4. You know when a random vid suggestion pops up on YouTube? Saw the title and thought it might be interesting, which it sort of was, but not very…. the subtitles however are just odd.
  5. Well spotted. It’s that Sod’s law at work again 🤣 Will keep this one in mind for a future project.
  6. That does look good. I like my Coyote shell, so I’ll be sticking with that. but.. Just ordered a ‘93 Ranger shell for my Enduro, and now sort of wish I’d seen this first. Although it doesn’t look like it’s got light buckets, which is slightly annoying, but I bet someone out there will do a 3D printed grill with them soon enough.
  7. Tidied my “ RC workshop” (back bedroom 🤣). My new Element had a scale garage printed on the inside of the box. Never really seen the appeal of the whole scale garage thing but I thought it might look good to arrange my RCs in it…….. it’s a bit crowded. So you can’t really see the garage anyway. 🤔 But at least my workspace is tidy for a change.

  9. I was just going to say the same🤣!!
  10. Thanks, but now I’m confused (it’s not hard to confuse me).🤣 Both types say they fit the flat iron XL, and both say they are 105mm diameter. I thought that was odd, as the tyres are 120mm, but figured, taking into account the depth of the tread, the internal diameter probably is about 105mm(??) but if so, and if both foams are the same diameter, why would the single stage flop about? Maybe because the single stage have a curved profile and the dual stage have a squared off profile? Not questioning what you are saying but it is confusing.
  11. @RedbackSo, in your opinion, would you say this lot would make a good combination?
  12. You might want to check out the Knowlsely Road industrial estate. I was there yesterday and straight away thought “speed runs”. Long straight and slightly downhill. Very busy and lots of parked cars during the day, but I reckon it might be pretty quiet in the evening. 🤞
  13. Forgive me if I’ve overlooked it, but has a date been set yet? (If so, ignore this post) Thought I’d “followed” this topic, so was surprised not to have heard more about it…. Only to realise there’s been a pretty active discussion going on. 🤦‍♂️ I’d love to attend, but as I only get every fourth weekend off work, it might be difficult. If no date has been set yet, can I make a couple of suggestions? Looking ahead at the calendar, the weekend of 27th/28th of May or the 22nd/23rd July would be best for me. Definitely can’t come at the end of June as I’ll be on holiday. I realise there are a lot of other folk to accommodate so at a push, I might be able to swap my weekend off 🤞
  14. That's walking distance for me. Let me know when you going one day and I might pop along with my Tamiya. 👍
  15. That’s really nice of you Jules. Far too generous. If I were in need of them, I’d take you up on it, but as it stands I’d just be taking advantage of “free stuff” for the sake of it. Thanks anyway though, the thought is appreciated 👍 The tyres on Bobs rig are original equipment from the first generation kit. Probably not great tyres but I have nothing to compare them to. To me they seem to just get better as they get more worn (although they are a bit **** on wet rocks). It’s my birthday soon, so I pretty much have a free pass to spend some money on fettling the Element without getting a hard time about my “expensive toys” from my ever patient Mrs. I just never realise HOW MANY different tyres there are! And they all claim to be super grippy blah blah blah. All a bit baffling.
  16. I have a TT02 with a 4000kv motor and a recently purchased 3s. I can’t even get to full throttle without running out of car park. …. Or just spinning out if I’m too keen with it. I’m not particularly serious about speed runs, or kidding myself it’ll break any records, but am curious how fast it’ll go. I might pop up there one day👍
  17. Where is that? Looks like a nice quiet spot. And I live in Rossendale too, so hopefully it’s local to me🤞 Edit: Hold on, is that by Fearns?
  18. I don’t think I’d get away with 1.9’s on the stock body without some drastic cutting. Not very keen on it anyway. Thinking of replacing it with this… https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/pro-line-1993-ford-ranger-clear-body-set-for-313mm-wb-crawler-1335550
  19. For the element I’m going shiny new wheels, tyres, and shell just because?? but… Would you say they were better than the stock Carisma tyres? If they are an improvement I could put em on Cowboy Bobs rig. How much do you want for them?
  20. Thanks that really interesting. The Enduro is overdriven 5 point something percent at the mo. Does this make a difference to tyre and foam choices?
  21. They are going on an Element Enduro Trailwalker and will (probably) be mounted on a set of Gmade stamped steel beadlocks.
  22. Diameter? Blimey, another thing to factor into the decision. The stock wheels are 1.5’s and the stock tyres seem pretty good, as far as I can tell after 3 hours use, but are significantly smaller than the 1.9’s on my Stout. The reason for new tyres is partly for slightly extra ground clearance, so I suppose a larger diameter is what I’m after? TBH I don’t have a clue whether 116mm is big or small. I want them to look scale too, so don’t want to go for 2.2’s. Obviously need to do more research. These are going to be a birthday present to myself, so don’t mind shelling out a few quid if they are going to be good.
  23. “3 years later”, 😆 Just bumping this up in the hope someone notices it. Really baffled by all the choices and don’t want to spend £40+ on rubbish tyres.
