  1. A local model shop has recently been bought out and looks to be a vast improvement over the old one. Thought i'd check them out and might help buying from them in the future. I enquired what nitro fuel they have and they've come back with Model Technics Big Bang. I've not heard of this before can anyopne pass on any comments as to how good this is? The last coupld of bottles I've used have been Optifuel 20% and been very happy with that.
  2. In that case I'll leave it, but thanks anyway.
  3. Im interested in the Hitec servo. But I can't find out how many teeth it has. I need a 25T - whats this one got?
  4. I'm still interested in the transmitter for the right price. Any movement on your original price? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  5. I'm interested in the flysky transmitter. But I think £50 is a bit ambitious. You can pick up a new one on eBay for £30. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313187457374 Would you take £20 for it? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  6. Slightly different but I've just sent a load of PC parts by Hermes. I found their prices very reasonable. Have to sign up for an account though. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  7. The clutch housing doesn't look like it's flush. Should it be? Are there any washers preventing it from pushing up? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  8. Hey @Jimboi I'll take the radio gear please. PM on its way.
  9. Hi folks, As title really. Have a need for a FlySky transmitter. Having intermittent drop outs between GT2E and two diferent RX's. Not sure what is going on. Need to test with another TX.
  10. Binding FlySky GT2E to multiple receivers. Searched on here and didn't find the info I needed. Have figured it out from different resources on the net so thought I'd post it in here for future reference. I purchased GT2E with a bundled receiver FS-A3. This developed an itermittent issue so purchased an new RX FS-GR3E. According to the attached PDF the GR3E RX is compatable with the GT2E TX. Although you can see the RX are listed with different protocols. A3 is AFHDS 2A GR3E is AFHDS You need to switch the TX into a different mode to switch between the two. Turn steering wheel while holding bind button & power on. Green light will be flashing. Now let go of steering and bind button. Press and release bind button to save the mode selection. Now turn off TX. You have switched modes. Repeat these steps to switch back. To get it to bind to the GR3E wasn't the normal process either. The included instructions with the GT2E has an image which shows the bind plug and the power plug in the wrong places! Helpful! This is how to bind: On RX: plug power plug into VCC - normal (top) port. Plug bind plug in Ch3/bind port & power on. Red LED will flash On TX: hold bind and power on - green LED will flash. Let go of bind button - normal binding would be complete by now. But both RX & TX LED's continue to flash. Power off TX - then power on again. Both LED's stop flashing. Bind complete. Power off TX & RX. Remove bind plug from RX. Power on TX then RX and check function. Now you will need to set the fail safe. Power on in the normal procedure - TX first then RX. Apply the brake or keep throttle in neutral - keep this position applied while you complete next step - On RX: Use provided pin to press the fail safe button - LED will flash around 4 times. Fail safe has been set. Power off RX & TX. Then power on normally. Power off the TX and full brake should apply. Hope this helps someone out, if not it will help me to remember 😉 FlySky_Tx_Rx_compatibility_table.pdf
  11. Fitted new clutch spring haven't fired it up yet. But also rebuilt car after giving everything a good clean (just need to wash wheels & tyres now). Hoping the rain stays off this weekend for some bashing
  12. Aah, OK, good thinking. Will try that. Got some replacement screws on order. Will have to wait until they turn up. Thanks 👍
  13. Thanks, That's about the only thing I could think of too. Just need to ask about & borrow a rotary cutting tool now 😉
  14. Spent some of my lunch hour in the garage with the car (benefit of working from home). Found the heatsink screws, thank god. However the engine mount screw is totally rounded. Just putting the driver in and gently turning to see which corner of the hex was still gripping & the driver spins within it now. Hopefully the gear mesh will stil lbe setup OK. But I am going to need to get this out at some point. From the pics it's the top left screw. But as it sits in a recess i imagine this is going to be a nightmare to get out.
  15. Thanks Derka, I'll post a picture later of the engine mount screws. Found the screw type info above from looking in the manual. I've looked on Modelsport and got a bit overwhelmed with the screw choices. Couldn't actually find any generic screw sets that looked like they have the M2.6 & M4 screws I may need. Trying to filter by type and length ended up with a selection of Hpi screw sets which are all out of stock!
  16. Was stripping down the car last night to adjust a few things. Have run into two issues. Firstly think i lost a screw for the engine heatsink - will have another look today in the daylight. But couldn't find it last night. May have to purchase some more. Which loosely leads onto issue #2. Then I think I have rounded out the hex on an engine mount screw. Which presents two issues. how the heck to get it out? It's a button head M4 10mm which sits in a slight recess. The hex is a 2.5mm and my driver is ok as I managed to undo the other three screws after having issues with this one. The only thing I can think of is to dremel a cut in it for a flat head driver. Unless anyone has another idea! Hpi screw sets are out of stock everywhere (unsurprisingly) but are there differences between manufactuers screws. ie thread angle or depth? As I found this independant site specialising in screws http://www.modelfixings.co.uk/ht_button_heads.htm Do you think these would be OK?
  17. Makes this first run even more exclusive [emoji6] Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  18. Yeah got mine today too. Have just put a couple on for now. Couldn't find the HPi ones that I've held off applying so didn't want to go overkill! Although I could have [emoji13] They look great, thanks@Nick Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  19. Blue & black ordered successfully. Thanks for your efforts to get these knocked up Nick [emoji106] Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  20. Nick, I tried from two different desktop browsers too, no joy I'm afraid. Empty cart, no matter how many I added.
  21. Yeah these look great. Perfect size I would say. Would be interested in blue & black/grey straight away!
  22. Awesome news. I've been holding off applying some HPI stickers I got from Ebay hoping that these materialize. Thanks for the update!
  23. Thanks for posting this. My boy was quite exicted to see these, hopefully it'll keep him amused for a few hours 👍
