  1. Gratuitous bit of polishing again today. Done the battery holder and the starter cup on the nitro starter. Re polished the car exhaust again due to welding on the manifold then polished that as well. Then did what ever was excessible with what I was using ie head fins engine mount and the brass on the carb and the clutch bell. This is the machine I have been using
  2. Nice of them to mention it eh. πŸ™„At least you know what the problem is now. Good luck.
  3. Wow some serious bling there mate, Very nice. πŸ‘
  4. Got to do some polishing today. Decided to polish up both heli exhausts. One is a genuine exhaust the other is one I made at work. Quite therapeutic doing it outside in the sun πŸ˜†. How it looked before. First stage of polishing. Finished exhaust. Well pleased with the results I did my other helicopters exhaust. Original look on left side and polished on the right hand side. Finished exhaust
  5. Yes that's the correct procedure. It's a long shot you could take the carb off and check that the gasket is the correct way around as it has a small hole in it that should align with the pulse holes in the carb and manifold.
  6. Just reread your first post again, has it ever been started? It could be how you are starting it. What process are you going through?
  7. Literally then the only thing I can think of is an air leak somewhere. I know from when I had this problem I had a blown head gasket. Maybe try and tighten everything up a bit. Maybe things have settled in a bit during running it in?
  8. Just on the off chance then is the throttle butterfly slightly open to allow air into the mix and the choke butterfly, when cold shut for the first couple of pulls then fully open to start the engine?
  9. Are you getting compression? You should be able to feel it if you pull slowly on the pull starter. It should try to lift the car up off the ground. If there is little to no compression it will be really easy to use the pull starter.
  10. Agree with you on the exhaust leak. Could you put about a teaspoon of petrol down the spark plug hole and see if it will at least try to fire up?
  11. 1/2 kilo of white powder 🀫 Actually it's vienna lime. It's for cleaning polishing residue off. But you should have seen the wife's face when she opened the box and pulled it out. She thought I was venturing out on other business opertunities 🀣
  12. So pretty much rules a worn out engine. Assuming you have fuel pressure and fuel going to the carb, a decent spark I can think only of 3 things 1st, it is still flooded. My favourite is to close off both needles and turn the engine over for a couple of minutes to expell unwanted fuel. Other people remove the carb altogether, I think its just personal preference. 2nd are you using the choke correctly? And 3rd an air leak. Check for oil seeping out from the base of the barrel (the head bolts do come loose from time to time) or leaking around the carb.
  13. When you say you had it a week is it brand new or second hand?
  14. Check for a spark, see if you can rule that out as a problem.
  15. The piston crown looks OK but the outer edge does look like it is damaged on one side? Agree with above comment here as well. Easy enough to do just remove the backplate first, then you will probably need to heat the barrel to slide out the piston liner which will give clearance to pull the con rod off the crank pin. Just remember to make a note of the position of the liner so it goes back in the same way.
  16. I have heard of people changing the servo saver for a better adjustable one but never the bell crank, a new one to me anyway.
  17. Also I would get the chassis skid plates then maybe some outerwears. Droop screws. A spare pull start and a spare spark plug. Not essential but maybe pull start thumb screws. As for oils unless there is nothing in the parts in question I would leave them till it was required for standard servicing as you maybe happy with what is in there already?
  18. I personally think the wheel type of controller is way better for ground based models cars/boats etc. Why not buy a cheap 2ch and see how you go. A new one will only be Β£20. Then if you like the style you can then upgrade to whatever takes your liking πŸ‘
  19. Got my day planned today. Had some upgrade M1 gears come this morning ready to upgrade from the standard 0.6M already fitted to my Trex 700.
  20. Made myself a rear window screen for the 5ive T. Got some sizes and programmed a louvered plate and then painted it. Held in place by clips at the bottom and magnets at the top for now.Undecided which colour to go for at the moment πŸ˜€. Also made a front window from perspex. Even managed to curve it slightly to match the bodywork.
  21. As far as I am aware it's council owned so anyone can use it.
  22. Gotta love those pipes. Well cool 😎.πŸ‘
  23. From what I just googled it is a "VH-X8 RC Nitro Gas RC 1/8 21CXP 65mph Racing Car Price: $399.95" never heard of them myself but if its cheap enough and works its upto you but I would look for spare part availability before making any decisions.
