  1. When this first got spoken about i really wanted it, but then i got the scale Lynx and now have a crawler trail rig i really like, but may still get one of these later in year if i have some spare cash
  2. Looking good, seems this chassis in its various forms is near indestructable so thats a great thing, what would you say is the largest battery to fit in (NI-MH)
  3. £60 lipo or possible house fire, drop it in a bucket of very salty water and leave to die, that is a fire risk
  4. I was given a 1300 3s turnigy that had not been put to storage and had sat in a plane for a few years, figured it would be goosed but still had some charge so i cycled it and its still good, just goes to show
  5. Happy new year to all on here, and thanks to all that kept me going when i was close to calling it a day, cheers people

      Happy New Year mate ?

  6. I have already swapped my NI-MH plugs over to XT60 as i have an overlander RC6 charger for my lipo`s and it will do a fine job with the NI-MH packs, should be able to charge a 3000 in an hour
  7. Nope, you were right, this bad boy is going to see some nice hop ups, just done the XT60 conversion on the truck and my NI-MH packs, got lights coming for it, wheel arch flares on order, already looking at new smart wheels and tyres (stock tyres dont seem to be very grippy), then in a few months big strip down and full bearing set going it
  8. Carisma scale Lynx, brilliant, superb, awesome, what a super rig, back from a 2 battery pack trail and crawl at Shipley glen and it took it all in its stride with not a problem at all.....#best crawler in the world#
  9. I dont know but interested, so gonna take a guess at 50 mins
  10. I seem to be busy buying upgrade hopups for the Carisma scale Lynx

Lights are my new favourite thing on crawlers. I have ten on my SCX10II.

If I had a light bar I think it would be brighter than my 1:1 headlights!

I am doing the 3mm and 5mm white for the front and the 5mm red for rear, will use switched CR032 battery packs vecroed to inside the shell one for the froint and one for the rear to save running wires all over

  11. its the tam plug on the truck that im worried about, its brand new, guess i just have to charge on usb for a day or so till i know the car is all good
  12. No, nowt to do with female functions................so my scale Lynx has Tamiya plug and so do both NI-MH packs, i cant charge the packs on the big overlander so even though its a new rig, do i cut of the Tam plugs and go straight over to XT60, and yes i can safely change a plug with out blowing a battery up, just a bit worried if i have any problems and it were to go back under warranty, this could be a problem, but charging is a problem with silly usb charger, if i had a spare tam plug i could make up a lead for charging
  13. This is the post you all so want to read.........got a replacement Carisma Lynx ORV, and it is stunning, it looks just right, it works as it should, i am a very happy Jack, and out on the muddy stuff in the morning
  14. No, i drive a Honda Jazz, and whilem i think its a great car, its a just a bit err, Flat cap, like grand dad mobile
  15. Monkeyboy, thanks for a link to a great video, very, very helpful
  16. First up, i have an overlander RC6 charger that i use for all my lipo charging, fine good happy days, but how the heck do i charge NI-MH on it, if you charge these on a usb charger, its like, put it on charge, go for a vacation and hope its done when you get back kinda thing, okay maybe not that long but it sure does take a while, so back to topic do i just hook up to the discharge and set to NI-MH and then set to the pack mah, and will it be significantly faster, i am asking for safety as the last thing i want is smoke....fire.....house burnt to the ground
  17. I dont think the RTR has bearings either, just bushes, if i ever get one i would run it for a half season and then strip it and clean lube and fit bearings
  18. It looks like its a unique one for that model
  19. so i am not joining the carisma club, mine arrived looking rather "ex demo" and missing the TX, it will be going back, think i am calling it a day with crawlers
  20. Happy days, the carisma scale Lynx arrived....unhappy days...missing parts, important parts like the TX and looking rather "ex demo", it can go back and i will rethink this whole part of the hobby, now dont have a crawler and this wont get resolved before end of the holidays..going flying some wings to chill

Here is what i am thinking, if i wait for the Lynx to come back in stock i will be very lucky if its early Jan, more like early Feb, so as i do like American pickups i am tempted to take the Lynx back, grab a coyote and choose a HPI pickup shell for it, offer one up to make sure it would fit right and maybe MS will absorb the little extra for the shell, then in time make a nice truck, thing is i dont find the stock coyote to appealing

Okay, a good mate is going to MS tomorrow, so i am tagging along, taking the Lynx back in person, and with luck i might come home with a Carisma Ford F-150, so might be back in the game after all

Happy days........no unhappy days, went to MS and yes they were extremely helpful resolving the problem, so i now have a bright shiny Carisma Lynx that works properly, looks darn good..........and best of all i really like it, going to get it nice and muddy in the morning

  21. Boxing day sale over, back to listed price of £130 and still a good deal
  22. Use a 540 motor with around 35 turns as to the battery i wont know till later on today when my carisma arrives but aq 2s lipo my guess is something about 4000mah
  23. welcome to forum, i grew up in portsmouth
  24. cant comment on that, i have heard it might have a few weakness but its a nice slow crawler and does look the part
