  1. on the verge of ordering the outlaw brushed for the mrs, along with a clear shell, has any one done a paint job on the clear shell for an outlaw, it looks like it should be 2 piece, the front with sides and then a separate roof panel, any tips or advice or even pics
  2. for a first car i think the outlaw BRUSHED would be better, they are pretty quick, the brushless is a fair bit faster, if you do get either of these be prepared for things breaking, but easy to fix and parts ready available. FPV on a car, to me this is a no no, the bounce from a ground vehicle would render the image un usable, i do fpv on flying wings and that works, i did once put an action cam on my rock racer and the video was junk
  3. i bought the Hubsan 216 last year, i will say it flies well and has a huge bonus of being sub 250g flying weight but battery life is very poor
  4. You are of course correct, at one point i did consider the outlaw and then rejected it on the grounds that it seems to break a lot, but then so does all rc cars but the fact that spares are ready to come by in the UK and lots of nice upgrade parts has changed my mind, keepin mind this is for the good lady to use more as a trail rig, seeing as i have given up on the Tamiya and put it up for sale
  5. Its looking like i will be getting the outlaw, plus the clear body to do a custom paint job for the mrs, run it standard to start with then as parts break upgrade to better components but i already have a set of metal sliding metal propshafts so they will go straight on
  6. after a lot of thought i have decided the landfreeder was not right for my wife, so its now for sale at a bargain and i really mean bargain price, the chassis is built but not been run other than to test on the carpet indoors, most of the lexan body is trimmed but not painted, the esc has been opened up and given a waterproof treatment with conformal coating, it has a Carisma MG servo that has been given a bit of waterproofing, silicone on the wires and an oring under the steering arm, i will also include a brand new core radio system and a Billet alloy steering hop up kit. This comes will all the parts supplied from the box even instructions and decals, all chrome plated parts (not yet fitted) this is 90% finished, just requires the steering kit to be retro fitted and finish the body of, so far it has been built to a high careful standard, price collected from queensbury near halifax is £110, a saving of around £90, and i have all packaging so i would be able to post with the cost of post added to the price
  7. Im back to thinking of getting one of these for the wife, she had a run with my ripmax rock racer and really liked it, (stripped steering servo though), i think if she has one it will need a 27T motor to make it a bit slower for her, also wondered if any one has used the clear body kit that is available to do a custom paint colour
  8. Yodel strikes again, ordered an HD camera for putting on my AR900 gps wing, and its showing as delivered on tracking, but has not arrived here, second time this has happened with useless yodel, now i am well out of pocket

  9. last Tamiya i had was great, one i am building is not great, £200 down and a car that likely wont ever get used

My last Tamiya always ends up never being the last :D

  10. yet another idea comes to a screeching halt, friend has done a great job of putting me of the ranger chassis
  11. you have done a super job there, looks like a factory made rig, im toying with putting a TAM landfreeder body on an outback chasis as the cc01 is not nice
  12. Its looking like the body swap will be super easy, and wheel base is just right
  13. i have a carisma scale as my own rig, the Lynx ORV and love it, chassis is to long for a landfreeder body
  14. As some of you will know, i bought a Landfreeder kit to build a trail truck for my wife so she can join me out on the trail, its just about built but sorry for speaking my mind but have to say i really dont like the cc01 chassis, so i have been looking at other chassis to put the landfreeder body on, and it looks like the outback ranger series is just the right size (you might say just keep the defender body but i really dont like em), so i guess i want to ask what are the weak points on the outback ranger chassis? and what makes them better, need the good bad and ugly on this truck? if i pull this of i will sell the cc01 chassis complete minus the shell
  15. So chassis is built, and the steering really sucks on this model, now had to order the billet upgrade kit just to make it usable
  16. Big vote for UHU POR, not the usual UHU i build lots of planes and it`s all i use
  17. TX not got end points its a basic Core radio, very disappointed with the steering
  18. Hi guys, I seem to be getting more right steering than left, played with trim, played with horn position, am i overlooking something simple or is this just how the model is?
  19. would consider other makes of chassis that might take the landfreeder shell
  20. looking for one of these to put the landfreeder body on as i dont like the cc-01, prefer a roller but anything considered, price and pic please
  21. yes third pary wheels would fit providing hex size is 12mm, BTW its a landfreeder, not feeder lol, can you do me a favour, flip your defender over and rotate the back wheels see if front ones turn, not sure if i made a mistake on my build, and spraying mine purple/black as its for my wife
  22. Nice, i am building a cc-01 but the landfreeder version as a trail car for the wife
  23. Gaz, i support what your saying, to me the only half decent one is a Mauler once it has been stripped and rebuilt with decent parts and care
