  1. They look brilliant. Had to Google it because I couldn't remember them. Now I'm hoping for a re-re!
  2. I should have been more specific lol Made by which rc company?
  3. It's 4 main parts - the radiator, block, filter and cover. I have been fortunate to use a couple of machines at work for the more complicated bits like the paper looking filter. It all holds together with one screw through from beneath the fender plate. All aluminium except the cover which is stainless steel. Below is version 1
  4. Thank you I went through a few versions before I was happy with this one. Might paint the cam covers and add a few details if I get a few minutes
  5. Wanted to add a bit of weight up front on my sport. Was considering a steel front axle (which made a big difference to the lads defender) and also toyed with putting the esc on the front plate that came with the fender kit. Decided to break out the tools and came up with this in the end which fits nicely inside the proline fj40 I've just bought
  6. I was thinking similar lol Otherwise really liking this
  7. Had these on a savage a few years ago. They ballooned quite badly even though I taped the inside of the carcass. Also proved a strain for the steering servo (not helped by the beadlock wheels) so they didn't stay on long,............ but they looked great!!!
  8. Surely if you reverse the channel and wires you'll have the jerkiness going forwards? I run a 1080 in a Trx4 and I think it's the best £40 I've spent on it so far
  9. Reading that made me realise how much I miss a good savage. Had nearly every nitro version over the years, always modding and tinkering. Toyed with going brushless but for me then a savage had to be nitro - nothing better than that noise and smell - wish I'd kept my XL now😔 Loving the brushless charger with the irc big bores, always wanted a set of those.
  10. Interestingly, the wheelbase is the same as a touring car so guess we can expect a lot more variants using their back catalogue of shells. http://www.rcdriver.com/tamiya-tc-01-formula-e-gen2/
  11. If you're looking at UK sourcing there's truescaletrucks.com and astec models.co.uk both of which carry all sorts of mods and accessories. Astec is shut at the moment due to the lock down but truescale are still trading.
  12. The lad and I took the defender and the sport out today for our first blast in a while. A 5 minute walk up the road and then out across the trails for nearly 2 hours to help escape all the coronavirus doom and gloom. So thankful to be living in the countryside right now. Stay safe everyone.
  13. I was hoping for a simple 4x2 or even 6x4 tractor unit to be announced. Looks a nice bit of kit but will be way outta my budget range. Oh well.........
  14. I don't think that's too bad considering it's fully rtr with a hobbywing esc plus all the revisions and scale details
  15. Looks like the new Honda electric city car to me
  16. You are a little more limited on choice with the defender wheelbase being 324mm whereas the majority cater for a 313mm wheelbase a la scx10, trx-4 sport, enduro etc. Proline do a couple specific for the defender if you don't mind painting, and killerbody do some pre painted specific also. You could always try a shorter 'base shell and elongate the wheel arches a little, tho that sometimes looks a little odd. As for the inner arches Traxxas do a couple of sets that secure to the chassis if you really want to keep the mud etc out. But if you did that it wouldn't be a quick swap between shells. Probably best off running the beater shell without any tbh anyway, less for tyres to rub on during extreme terrain
  17. Hmmm, that's a bit higher than I was hoping for considering what you get, or rather don't get.......
  18. They're bright on full beam, got the head/tail lights and bar on my son's. Tempted to convert my sport to a defender because they look so good!
  19. And the last mention of the subject of this thread was how many pages back.....
  20. Anybody seen anything relating to a UK release date for the kit yet?
  21. Even if you subtract the old rtr electronics value (say 10 bob and a conker) and add on the axe system at £160 how did they get to that price point?!?
  22. £685 on modelsport site....... What the, thought the pound jumped on the back of the election result!!!
  23. That looks epic, big fan of the open top pick up look. Wonder if $ will translate directly to £ like mond says - got some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket!!
  24. Looks like a better pic on bigsquid
