  1. MEILAN M3 gps bike computer. £20 from China - eBay or Aliexpress. Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks people. Food for thought. Always good to get the insights of others. I had three 6S Arrmas before getting a Tekno MT410 then I understood what real quality was. An ET48.3 would be first on my list but I only ever buy second hand and they don't exactly crop up for sale very often. I know you can throw money at an Arrma and make it bombproof but for that kind of outlay you could get a Tekno anyway. Personally I'd rather hammer an Arrma chassis flat (again) than spend £100+ on an M2C replacement although they are beautifully made. I guess a Hyper ST Pro roller would be a good project to take on. 3. OK guys thanks. I'll do that. I could have come out of it slightly better in terms of monetary value but if there's nothing to be gained in terms of unbreakability then not worth the effort I guess. Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  4. OK I guess they're pretty good judging by opinions around the Web. Thinking of selling the 6S Kraton and getting one. Just for bashing. They seem to run on 4S but is the performance is similar based on their lighter weight? Worth the effort or stick with the Kraton? Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah the ESC can give you an indication of what's wrong by what colour light it's flashing and how fast. Check the manual. It's online at Traxxas if you don't have it. Bad Lipos can still charge fine but their voltage can drop quickly once in use. Full throttle can draw big amps which can drop the lipo voltage and trigger the LVC. Try a battery that's known to be good to test it. Even a Nimh. Certainly better than just buying a random ESC then finding out there's nothing wrong with the original. 6. Maybe he fell into that rift in the space - time continuum that I was on about..... Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  7. Relax guys. I've made the order. The space-time continuum is safe. For now........ Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  8. The thing is, what if I don't make the order now? Will I still have it? Too many conundrums and paradoxes or even a chance of causing a rift in the space-time continuum. I'd better still make the order just to be on the safe side. [emoji6] Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  9. Ha! That's nothing! My HobbyKing delivery arrived just now but, the thing is, I'm not gonna place the order until this afternoon. Beat that! Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk

  11. Yeah fair enough. You're right, buying used has unknown variables. If you buy from prominent members of forums or FB groups you can often track the ownership history of the car via their postings and get a good idea of how they look after and improve their RCs. There are several people on here and on the Arrma Owners FB group I'd buy off without hesitation as I've followed their postings and often been the recipient of friendly and helpful advice from them. But hey! A large part of the hobby is also choosing and buying your car and if you want to start with a brand new one then you get exactly what you want and you get to customise it how you want so that's all good too. You'll have fun either way...... [emoji16] Sent from my MIX2 using Tapatalk
  12. To the OP - Why not pick up a used V3/4 Kraton with batteries and some essential upgrades? They usually come in around £300-350. Plenty come up on FB. You'll spend double that on a new one and you might not even like the hobby once you're in it. At least a used one doesn't depreciate massively if you sell it again. Personally I'd start with something a bit smaller, cheaper and slower and build up some driving skills first along with some working knowledge of the electrics and mechanicals. 14. Picked up an Xray XB4 RTR with two sets of batteries and spare wheels, Radio etc for £130 so now we have 2WD and 4WD options. Unfortunately, doesn't look like there's gonna be much racing on for a while.... Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  15. I'd start off by (re)calibrating the ESC.
  16. These are pretty reasonably priced: HERE
  17. 6S Arrmas are good 2nd hand buys. £250-£350 will get you something very good. Either buying off here or the Arrma Buy/Sell Group on Facebook usually finds you something that's been well looked after, sensibly upgraded and with plenty of extras.

  20. The two easiest ways before you break out the power tools: 1 Stretch a rubber band over the hole, insert hex driver and, whilst pushing down with the driver, unscrew. 2 If you have a torx (star) bit that's slightly too big to fix in the hex - hammer it in so it bites in the hole and then unscrew. Surprising how often 1 works and 2 nearly always works unless it's really seized. Can't help you on the screw type though. Sorry. Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  21. Hey Hawkesy. Yeah I'll give you first dibs. I'm sure I could sell off various bits but I'll try and sell the whole thing first. Hopefully to some muppet on ebay.... Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
  22. I was looking to build a Rustler Speed Run car, but when I priced up all the parts I needed it soon added up. I found this chassis in the USA and imported it at great cost but still saved money over sourcing all the bits over here. Anyway: Integy alloy chassis Hot Racing all metal gearbox with Mod1 34T Spur Hot Racing steel driveshafts Saga RC custom rear drag plate. Alloy front bulkhead Alloy front arms F&R Alloy Shock Towers Rear upgraded Traxxas shocks Rear RPM arms Alloy Caster Blocks Carbon Upper Deck Traxxas XO-1 wheels & tyres (Seller assured me they were and they have covers glued on) Futaba Servo All alloy steering gear/Bell cranks Included is a 34T Mod1 Pinion Rustler and Bandit shells. Rustler front body mount One of the 4 battery mount clips on the chassis is missing but it doesn't affect usage . This hit 91mph with an Arrma BLX 6S system and a load of weight up front and using a gyro. Better rated batteries than I had would certainly get more. Really wanted to get to 100mph but other projects have taken over and it's been sitting in a box for a year. Seems like a lot for a roller perhaps but not so much when you add up the bits. Would also make a very cool (and robust) basher on 3S with a set of Badlands. £210 posted Buyer pays PP fees
  23. OK - Friend of mine bought a brushed Carnage for his son. Brand new 2.0 version. I said had a new SkyRC Leopard 1/10th brushless combo he could have. (Had it as a spare for the SR5 bike but never used it.) Popped round to his and we fitted it to the car. Set up the ESC with the program card. Ran fine on the stand but wouldn't move on the ground, just stuttering back and forward slightly.. The motor was also getting REALLY HOT. Didn't have the temp gun with me so couldn't check. Checked and re-checked the mesh. There's a bit of cogging before it takes off - on the stand. Didn't have the right spanner with me to adjust the slipper either. (Whenever you take tools - you never take the ones you need....) It's a 12t 3300KV motor so should be fine. Brand new 2S LiPo. Did a similar conversion with a Vantage before and it ran perfectly from the off (still does). What am I doing wrong? EDIT - Turns out, nothing. The motor was faulty. It was getting really, really, hot. As if you'd spent a day doing speed runs with no break. Swapped in the Velineon motor from a Rustler. No issues. Need to get another motor and some better gears instead of the crappy stuff that comes as standard.
  24. And yes I know they're not meant to look pretty [emoji13] [emoji849] Sent from my S55 using Tapatalk
