  1. Ssd axle fitted! After first run just one wheel came loose it's either a damaged nut or the wheel hub is badly warn.
  2. In a word no, the max I've had measured on gps using 3s and standard rtr gearing is 26 mph it's fast enough to be unstable, for context I also run 6s hyper7. The yeti I tend to use over really rough stuf ie sand dunes and rough grassland and rockey dry river beds where it's perfect.
  3. Having a frustrating time with the yeti at the moment the rear wheel nuts keep coming loose, I've tried new nuts with aggressive toothed flange, genuine axial wheel nuts to no avail. The nylock washer insert is acting on the thread of the drive shaft so it's not that. The only conclusion I can come up with is that when fitting the beef tubes I had to grind of the inner flange of the drive shafts and to stop them sliding side to side I fitted a small length of old drive shaft between them inside the diff, I think this set up is generating heat transmitting it allong the shafts and causing the wheel nuts to loosen. So to cut a long story short I've ordered the ssd centre pumpkin back axle from rc mart inspired by A.J. and his build!
  4. Fitted cameleon gold wrap to the yeti. Well it's supposed to be yellow!!
  5. Cars are easier, hence the landrover to get to the harder to reach places, and it means i dont have to lug tripods and lenses about whilst she does the artsy fartsy bit?
  6. Nice set of shots there Dan, not all to my taste but the monochrome stood out for me, my wife is a wildlife photographer so I see a lot of wild places around the UK, the one which really stood out for me was the orangutan very poignant, I'm not a fan of zoos and "wildlife parks".
  7. Split the hard case on 6s lipo, cracked the hub knuckle and poped out the rear prop shaft on the hyper7?
  8. Strip the diffs separate any bearings and rubber o rings drop all the rest (gears and housings) into a glass jam jar full of white spirit leave for a while shake or agitate, remove thoroughly dry with paper towel and reassemble.
  9. The temp today probs didn't help! Nope also long grass?
  10. Bashed the hyper, esc thermald twice Bashed the yeti, esc thermald once Ho hum but fun was had?
  11. Condolences to all who knew him.
  12. The rear lights were the first thing I did for this very reason and because defender rear lights are so small and dim I felt it was dangerous in poor weather conditions! As I said earlier I did try stupidly to change just the bulbs all be it in the front spot lights and they were so bad I shouldn't have bothered.
  13. As rover man said don't replace fillament bulbs for led's they are truly crap, all mine are specific led units and brighter than the originals.
  14. I have led lights all round in the defender except the indicators they are ce marked and headlight are set on the beam alignment so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic, it's the hid headlights that are illegal to use on the road as an aftermarket fitment.
  15. Just for reference the foam you were after is called plastazote, we use various thickness on car dash boards etc when we retrim them. https://www.efoam.co.uk/zotefoam-plastazote.php?gclid=CjwKCAjwopTYBRAzEiwAnU4kb79uTk1nI6zSLIESf8EFs04KhvsP7HJUfV-7N_3NtefQBDNUti5UPRoCRr4QAvD_BwE
  16. Wouldn't mind the engine, rest of it not to my taste.
  17. Superb, love the attention to detail.
  18. I would say cut down the cage to fit over the cab, reason being I've not seen a canvas tilt home made that really nails it for perspective, being a land rover nerd and a coach trimmer I'm a bit picky.
  19. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332581898911 Japanese for reliability and value! Just as an example high mileage on this one. Had a couple of hyundai santa fey's huge car reliable and cheep sub £2000 plus the added bonus of 4x4 in the snow.
  20. Coach trimmer. I trimmed the first 8 cars before they moved it all to America.
