  1. I have a strange issue with my S50 that I need some advice on. Every now and again during a WOT run, the engine will suddenly start to bog down and blow lots of smoke out the exhaust as if it is running overly rich. Backing off the throttle and gunning it again clears it out and its off. I can run it around for 10-15 minutes before it happens and it might not happen again until the fuel runs out. All other times it runs perfectly, accelerates cleanly all the way to the top of the rpm range, pops wheelies on demand, idles cleanly for as long as you leave it sat there. It doesnt seem to be causing any problems its just really strange as to whats causing it. I did have a problem earlier in the year where the mid-range needle had undone itself but this has been sorted and doesnt seem to be causing any running issues. Here is what I have tried so far Stripped cleaned and sealed engine - no change Changed fuel (same % and brand just different batch) - no change Changed plug (OS8) - no change Checked fuel and pressure lines for leaks - no change Replaced o-ring on HSN needle - no change As you can see it is a bit of a mystery. If anyone has any ideas I would be happy to hear them. Mike
  2. I tell you what mate I would do something about those wires coming out of your charger to the battery. Having the colours reversed is just asking for trouble
  3. From what I have read you have to do a fair bit of modding to get a tomahawk st to run on a starter box.
  4. Id go for a new pull start. Cheap enough, easy to fit and least amount to carry to the bashing site.
  5. Very nice mate. Quite impressed with that.
  6. Took the Tomahawk for a bash in the park, managed to come home without the bodyshell. Only realised after nearly 4 and a half hours.

  7. Clearout of the remaing car audio I have sat gathering dust. All radios have been tested and can be seen working by purchaser. First up two Kenwood DAB41U radios. I have two because one was in my car and one in my dads. Features full DAB, front USB port, line in port, MP3/WMA/AAC player. 50x4 output, rear line out etc. One of them is missing its DAB aerial so is a little cheaper but the aerials are available quite cheaply.
  8. There is a very real need to discharge. Google it and you will find that the general concensus is that the salt water method is NOT 100% effective at making a lipo safe for disposal. Take a look at the video below for a comparison of the two methods https://youtu.be/E0dBCeOPw4c
  9. The salt water method will dissolve the tabs off but wont discharge it. The salt will eat the tabs away really quickly and that could leave you with a half charged or less lipo and no way to discharge it.
  10. Dont waste your time trying to restore it mate. Just make sure its at 0 volts by draining it with a bulb or something, chop the wires off and bin it.
  11. Did you clean the tip before you used the iron? Could have grease or something on it
  12. Are these nihms brand new?

  17. Some light fingered person at Arnold Clark has swapped by nice brake fluid cap for a battered one when it was in for MOT. Got pictures of the old one and it is not the one that is on my car now. Not happy is an understatement

The cap that was on it was a standard but mint one. The one I have now looks like someone has driven over it. They shouldnt have had the cap off anyway as it was only in for MOT and oil change.

  18. to be honest i have never had much luck blocking the exhaust to pull fuel through, i have always blown down the pressure line. i would try a new glow plug(or at least a good working one), fresh fuel, fully charged glow starter and all things being equal it should fire up
  19. 2 year old fuel is gonna be well past its best so id get some nice fresh stuff. Was the car stored with old fuel in it?
