  1. Lol - I used to have to hide my Losi 5ive from my missus! not easy lol
  2. Standard haha! LOL! yeah I did that for a millisecond once, sparks did fly!
  3. Just wondering what is the most dangerous, silly or most outrageous thing you have done with any type of RC? Mine is as follows - I had an Align 450 Heli, just had it as a swap deal and decided to test it out - indoors - on the coffee table - with my arm holding it down via the landing skids at arms length.. Now due to the angle of arms length my head and eye level was more or less in line with the carbon blades, spanning about 700mm! So, I was giving it full throttle and holding it down then BAMMMMMM - a loud bang and a lot of noise - WTF just happened! - Well........... The blades had come apart from the head, the spindle that holds them had come away... One blade wrote off the tele, smashed into the screen and the other hit the settee about 6 inches from my Granddads head... What if they had separated at a different point? - it would have wiped my face out, blinded me etc. Looking back, utter stupidity! Expensive lesson but no one was hurt, haven't touched a 'copter since lol !! So, let's hear some stories
  4. I'm knackered and the Missus is insisting we take our son to see Santa tonight, he's only 5 months old! - Suppose it is his first Xmas :)

      merry Xmas!!

  5. I've got the DRX VE - on a 3s Lipo it's awesome! Not stupid speeds but quick enough to make you laugh! The nitro would be slower and I would say go for the brushless. The shells don't take too much punishment but I run mine on car parks, flat grass, dirt, gravel etc etc and it's awesome.
  6. Tempted to drop a pile of used £££ on a 5ive Buggy, they look ace!

The local largescale lads round my way seem to have all tried the conversions recently, and all going back / selling up and buying MCD's instead.

  7. With me half cut in there! - sounds like a plan
  8. Cheers, roll on next Summer so I can put it to use
  9. Well, never thought I'd ever come to selling my most favourite RC ever! - but here she is.. Started off life as an 811 TE Edition Nitro, then I converted her using the official Serpent E-Truggy conversion (wasn't cheap at just over £200!). The conversion is not the run of the mill just add a motor mount and a tray, it's basically the full conversion to make it like the official E-Truggy, new chassis, mounts etc. The only things carried over want the rear shock mounts, front and rear diff assembly. Had very little use and in excellent condition, comes with everything you see in the pictures - super strong truggy that handles and jumps better than anything I've ever had. You are also getting all the bits and bobs to convert back to a nitro if you so please (chassis, tray etc etc, all in pics) It comes as a roller so no servo, RX etc. This does include the wheels and tyres as shown. There is another shell I have somewhere so I can include that too (e-shell). I have all the boxes and instructions. Prefer collection but can post as cost, would have to break the Truggy down a bit to post. They're around £500+ new for the E-Truggy but you also get most of the Nitro bits! All in all I'm thinking £200 collected and if posted then that will be extra but will sort that with the buyer at the time. I have loads more photo's if you want to see more - just space restricted on here! Any questions please ask. Thanks.
  10. Been out the game for a while.. So did anyone get a Vekta ??  If so, thoughts?

AJ and I got let down by Jason not ordering them in, even though he'd held our money for months... neither of us have bothered since, so to the best of my knowledge, they are a rare beast in the UK...

      Oh How Original

Quite a few have had issues with the rear axles, the bearings are destroying the insides of the housings it seems, it was reported by Kraken in the very early developement of the Vekta and they said by release it was fixed, but clearly, it's still an issue.

Don't own one and never would so I can't really comment, they seem to jump okay, but they just look odd and awkward to me.

  11. This is something I did when I felt a little creative - did it 100% myself and no help at all! - Quite proud of it tbf, even the stool I made from Decking and decking supports. The majority is made from pallets, I had to rehash most of them as the gaps were too big.. Certainly takes away the issue of babysitters, don't have to go out to have a drink.! - even in the cold I put the chimnea in front of it and it's nice and warm, rainproof too! It's well stocked too.. I like it anyway lol
  12. Sad to think I don't even have one RC that is up and running.  NY Resolution - get them working and add more, MAKE time to use them :)  Gold renewed for another year so I'm serious! lol ;)

New York + RC shopping.........that could work. :D

Have loads of projects put on hold while I renovated the "new" house. Just took a short break to do a bit of RC stuff but there's still some DIY that needs doing before Xmas.

I feel your pain, since I have moved in it's been a DIY marathon, still some to go, happy to say not too much now.  I will then be looking at making part of my garage RC zone.  Missus doesn't know this yet but she won't be going in there! :)

I'm pretty well DIY'd out now. Kitchen gutted to bare walls and completely redone, New floors throughout downstairs including proper stone floors in kitchen, hall and conservatory. New doors throughut etc. etc. Can't believe the amount of work it takes to do over a house properly. Oh dear forgot about the garage which is stuffed to the top with boxes and I know I've got a car stored away in there somewhere as well. Next year, next year.

  13. I'm a certified 'wrapper' - although haven't wrapped anything in a good couple of years now. Steer well clear of the China rubbish, have a look at a company called MDP Supplies and the vehicle wrap with 'airlease' - basically easier to get the air out, conforms nice and is good quality. Not sure they have your colour though. Wrapping is not as easy as it looks to get right, but taking your time and using the right stuff you should be able to do a decent enough job.
  14. I'm going to build a little shack bar in the back garden out of pallets,.. Going all in on this one! :)

  17. Thinking of getting a Lotus Elise S1 1.8 as a future investment.  Not sure whether to or not tho, any thoughts?

    1. Carpmart

      Carpmart

Just as an investment or to use as well?  If just as an investment, I'm pretty certain that there will be higher yield cars that this.  PM me for my view if interested.  I had a VX220, which is obviously VERY similar.  It's a difficult car to get along with if used regularly and for track work, I prefer something a little more focused.
