Caught my eye as I grew up not a million miles away. TBH it's not far off that speed that's needed to for escape velocity from the local area.

Give it 2-3 weeks and you'll see a trending video of 'Paris at Night' on YouTube. lol

RE: Area 51.. Some guys looked into this on another forum. Its impossible.. Signal gets interference from the surrounding antennas they put up. It would only work if you could launch it from beyond the threshold of 'the gate', apparently. :/

    3. Tamiyacowboy

      Tamiyacowboy

you would get around .5km into area51 , before you were brought down hard.

as for france the cops need to start scanning the fpv signals out. these drones are not FBS, they are FPV i mean 5 drone flight thats a underground FPV group. and they will not be using secure downlinks, so that fpv signal is open to any that can lock it down. that includes the OSD info and a way to pinpoint home return direction and 30m location radius

    4. Tamiyacowboy

      Tamiyacowboy

if you know the drone is over yadda palace , and the osd says home is 1005m south southeast , you know via mapping where its home return is and its location finder is around 5-30m radius.

Two new staff members recruited = everyone happy.  Staff#1 turns up on time for induction, is keen and eager to start, very happy with the additional £1.20hr over what she expected and is raring to go.  Jobs a good un.  Staff#2 texts an hour before she was scheduled to arrive for induction, informing us she wasn't coming and that was about it.  :banghead:

Yeah I think my X1 Pro feels marginally better quality than my H7's, not necessarily stronger, just a little more refined, looks more expensive (and probably was back in the day).

  7. Alternatives to the Q32?  Looked at the WLTOYS 939 and the Revell but are there any others?

    1. RCbutcher

      RCbutcher

The wltoys is good but if you thrash it on the fastest setting stabbed mouse fast. Then crash the gears might strip teeth. Ours did. It was absolutely fine for me at any speed. But once my daughter figured out how to speed it up it stripped lol.

There's two versions aswel the cheaper one has all or nothing steering using a tx that looks like a ps1 controller.  The newer one with pistol type tx has propper steering.

Another option mayb is the wltoys 1/24 from bangood it has an alloy chassis and mayb upgradable. There's different versions car , mt ect they all use the same chassis just extended using the holes drilled. It looks kinda good for the money.

Cheers, do you know which model that is (the 1/24?)  last time I looked at banggood  there we're loads.

Just after something cheap n cheerful to run indoors whilst it's biblical out.

  9. Any DJI Phantom gurus about?  Specifically the original - and would spare a few minutes to run through some pros / cons of it as a camera system, things to look out for buying used / prices / upgrades (like fpv).

    thanks

      capri-boy

Cheers, I know i'm being lazy but you can't beat some 1st hand info.  Don't want anything flash, just something that can record video at 1080p within line of sight - not after any distance records.  I know the Phantom 1 can carry a gopro, not so sure on the feasability of sending an fpv feed out / how to receive it and the bespoke DJI batteries are a concern.

In an ideal world i'd go talk to a dealer, and get something warrantied an upto date but monies!  Have some Xmas gift £ left still which is ringfenced for a splurge...

    3. turok007

      turok007

the mk1 takes a normal lipo.  as for gopro most use it just for recording not FPV because of the lag

    4. Tamiyacowboy

      Tamiyacowboy

Fly away happen because the machine was moved when battery first powered up or they had not left the machine to scan for enough handshakes to the gps sat systsems ( thes ethings have to have atleast 3-6 satalites to lock onto for home return, if not probelsm can occour )

the dji phantoms are more as a flying video camera than fpv, YES you can add that stuff but its extra weight on the craft and your going to run into flight time worrys, hence the fpv side is more racing or long distance flights with a more larger frame and props allowing for bigger battery capacity and longer flight times. quads have a max payload and this is the barrier you can only carry so much and its going to impackt flight time.

naza lite gps is around 60 -120 quid IT CAN be firmware hacked to a higher version its the basic control system in the mk1 dji phantoms.

naza mk2 redbox, thast the same as above but unlocked and allows for waypoints via google maps and likes it cost more than above , but above can be firmware hacked to a mk2 version for less monies

naza bells n whistles, very expensive controllers aimed at the pro end consumer market, its what you find in propper drone cam machines costing 20k upwards these system can cost well over 2-3k

you can buy the first two from most rc flight shops and install them in almost any frame solong as its a quad octo etc etc. and it can be cheaper as your not bound by dji batterys and shizzle, so those 5000mah nantechs and likes are a possability, normal dji craft used 2200mah and got around 10 mins flight time / hover time 5000mah 8000mah your looking at around 20-30mins and with larger props say 11 inch longer flight times and more floaty feeling when flying, sluggish is more enjoyed in video work than a buzzy angry wasp drone, easy to feel the weight and act upon it and not be so twitchy to inputs. pluys you got that gps hold and other modes that can help with caputring images and or footage.

own of a naza lite gps and multiwii controllers

I've not started it - it's bnib.  opened to photo that's it.  All that's fair enough but I know what paypal are like - why i sell nothing that's 'mechanical' etc in nature on ebay.  I may list it parts or not working, see if he's happy with that and go from there.

    3. Zannu

      Zannu

Yeah, or say that you have not had it working and do not know if it works. He should buy it with the expectation it will not work, or with the uinderstanding it is quite likley that it will not work. Just try to cover your back, although it is hard. Or yeah, say spares and repair.

    4. Fly In My Soup

      Fly In My Soup

Yeah, you're only way there... would be to sell it as spares/repairs or parts or not working

      In the past I have sold items under the 'used' category, then put a disclaimer in bold letters in the description stating that;

'due to you not using the item yourself, your unsure that the item is 100% functional, however you have visually inspected and everything looks OK, rolls along well etc etc'

That way there's no comeback on you.

But ultimately, you will attract less bidders

  12. Anyone know what Amains are like for shipping?  Very small item costs out at £16.50 ish delivered and I really don't relish paying another £10 odd if the customs hammer hits.. Thanks.

    1. RCbutcher

      RCbutcher

Well it could be hit mate over £15 and amain is a reputable business so will Surley be all above board.  But it could still slip through. My tower orders wasn't tagged but had full price marked.

Was told it was a rare vintage tamiya, I asked for pics..... Told him it was a tl01 and not even in good original condition or one of the more sight after bodies and thus was £50-£80. Strangely not had a reply.

    3. Noj

      Noj

50 sheets for a tl01 is still a bit steep, IMO....

I'll offer 25 quid, 10 brand new body clips, 2 used eds 120mm hex tips (1.5 & 2.0mm), 7 used once Stanley blades, a lovely, hand knitted dinosaur hat for a cat and the obligatory pre-sucked boiled sweet. :good:
