  1. Thanks Thunderwolf - that's the most straightforward explanation I've seen so far
  2. I thought these restrictions were already in place before the 15th July for lipos. I was going to claim on a missing item in June but couldn't as it was a lipo (new one) that technically shouldn't have been sent anyway according to their rules Are they really that dangerous to transport...???
  3. That's worrying...I've recently ordered a BL combo from the same seller. How long did it take for your radio to arrive? Existing feedback doesn't give any reason to be concerned and comms so far have been spot on...but if it isn't brand new in manufacturer packaging as described then I won't be happy.
  4. Nice shiny new DEX210 kit...resistance finally broke after the price dropped below a ton Also an SR301 rx for my Tamiya Blazing Star to go with its refresh, a 3s lipo to try in the mini Summit and replacement body posts for the mini 8ight And my annual home insurance renewal
  5. Depending on the day of the week I will either be making a lot of spreadsheets and / or presentations by moving the same information around a bit until someone likes it enough to let me go home. When that isn't keeping me occupied I'm an official Fort Builder for a toddler
  6. Quite a few films mentioned that I also recommend...Rec and Rec 2 are great...Rec 3 not so much but still worth a watch. Iron Sky and La Horde, along with the Japanese Ring and Grudge films. I agree with babylon - as you get older films aren't as scary and it gets difficult to remember any decent ones from the dross that is available. The only times I've really been freaked out in the last decade or so was near the end of Ring 0 (prequel)...just something about the suspense that was built up that even watching it in broad daylight freaked me out far more than the original or sequel films. Also The Children was effective given the average age of the protagonists and what they got up to Don't really think much of the handycam school of horror films either, although it's been interesting watching Paranormal Activity become a caricature of itself over 4 films. Still, have picked up the Grave Encounter films on the OP's recommendation as I'd never heard of them before either
  7. Form done Background - got into it back in the late 80's along with a few friends with a Kyosho Ultima. Lots of fun but couldn't hold a candle against some of the 4WDs it was up against. Went quiet for a few years then bought a Tamiya Blazing Star on impulse around 1999 after I got my first job, which was run about twice then kept in it's box. Can't remember why, but bought it at Xmas so maybe it was just the weather. I'd promised myself for about the last 5 years that I'd strip it, clean it and get it running properly...finally did that at the end of last summer and have well and truly got the bug again. The garage / mancave is covered in cars and parts with more projects on the go than I'll ever finish thanks to ebay. Hoping my son gets the bug in a couple of years - he's too young to really control the things yet, but does enjoy slamming them into a wall when he gets hold of the controls For the forum, I use a few others for information as a lot of the stuff I tinker with doesn't have a lot of info here as it most of it isn't current - rctech & tamiyaclub are both great for finding stuff out with massive posts on some of my fleet. For some reason this is the only forum I post in, actively seek help or buy stuff from...just seemed a friendlier place that was UK based during my searches for info a while back, and seems fairly well moderated compared to others when trouble does appear. Previously only really used forums for gaming and the difference in attitudes is amazing...
  8. Ebay us your best bet. None there at the moment if you search for 'Kinder egg hippo' but a few have sold over the last 60 days according to the completed listings Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Do you already know some interested people who will join with their own cars? If not might be worth drumming up interest from other pupils to see how many will be interested so that you can plan it out better. Years ago we started a club at school that was basically a bashing arena for 3-4 friends who already had cars, which grew to weekly racing or time trials round an obstacle course with a larger group as more people came out of the woodwork and rc cars appeared from birthdays etc. Do you have access to anything available to layout a course - eg: cones from football practice or other equipment? Not sure how it works with afterschool clubs nowadays but are there fees involved at all?

  11. Cheers Madmini, Back to google for more research...
  12. I've been wondering this as well... Does anyone have any recommendations? I've noticed this one on modelsport - any good as a single servo for a 1/16 erevo or summit? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/alturn-usa-aas316mg-mini-servo-bb-mg/rc-car-products/368366
  13. I put an aluminium steering assembly on mine along with hubs and knuckles - hubs and knuckles because I kept losing king pins and the steering to reduce the slop. Both seemed to work well but I recently sheared the bottom off the front part of the chassis (ripped the suspension shaft out and took a chunk of plastic with it). When I took the front apart to replace it I found that both ends of the cross bar of the steering assembly had somehow bent about 30 degrees up. It was odd that it had happened on both sides to make them almost identical, despite the original part being straight. Have gone back to the plastic cross bar to see how long that lasts instead of buying another aluminium one. I've also added a T-Bone racing bumper to see if that helps avoid damage in future as not hitting things just ain't as much fun
  14. How much for the batteries, or are they included in the spares job lot? Thanks
  15. I'll be interested in your Dark Impact issues...still working through the 'break a part / replace a part' cycle on mine
  16. +1 First thing I do with a new project is place an order with them :-) Sent using Tapatalk 2
  17. I sold one a few weeks ago on ebay for just over
  18. I've stuck with a Tamiya sport tuned in the end after trying a couple of modified brushed motors and a brushless system. The faster options were fun, but near impossible to drive properly due to the poor handling that gives the Lunchbox it's charm. Sport tuned or equivalent gives more oomph than standard and you can still turn corners too! Sent using Tapatalk 2
  19. Found an excuse to fit Traxxas turnbuckles & rod ends to my Savage XS
  20. +1 on all the responses so far. It's a shame if the story is true, but I'd definitely have alarm bells ringing by this point if emails are being sent but payment is not. For the 'not posting outside the UK' part, you can set up exemptions in the postage section of the selling template. I normally bar anywhere in the world where I'm not willing to post this way, to avoid winning bidders from outside the UK.
  21. Picked up one of these from the local Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9063000.htm Need to line the cars up properly as each ramp isn't very big but great fun with the Mini LST and Mini 8ight in the back garden.
