  1. Looking at the side on picture here: https://anticsonline.uk/N500/N428/N2412_Tamiya-RC-radio-control-car-buggy-kit/108455197_Tamiya-58667-Audi-Quattro-A2-Rally-RC-Car-Kit.html the sticker on the rear 3/4 looks to be too high and a little too far forwards. Keeping an eye on this as it's a Rally car I haven't got... ...yet!
  2. Sadly not backlit, which I was worried about after a Dx4s, but haven't missed it at all in the last week. Might be an issue come the dingy days of winter in the forest. Although once setup and running I don't often look at the screen, don't have any telemetry setup anymore.
  3. Had the Rugged for about a week. Weight feels good, lots of functions (although Spektrum no longer seems to allow you to set Throttle Punch from the menus) and after about a week I@m beginning to get to grips with scrolling. The touch pad takes some getting used to after the scroll wheel on other Spektrums, but I'm getting the hang of it. Also like that you can use your thumb to steer when needed.
  4. If it's an alloy rack, check that the bolts on the bottom aren't hitting any of the web strengtheners on the top of part C5, with some setups and screw lengths, a little grinding may be needed. Other issues I've had, have been the screws working loose at the top and bottom of the alloy tube (threadlock seems to have fixed that), random rocks getting trapped and the servo moving on it's plastic mounts (alloy sorted that). With the stock setup I had issues with sand/grit in the tube on the chassis that the steering runs through - hasn't been an issue with alloy, but if you've been running somewhere very wet or muddy might be worth a check. I also had 1 alloy setup that just plain didn't work, all the tolerances were out so it got replaced.
  5. Is it stock steering rack or an alloy upgrade?
  6. DX6i is an Air transmitter, so you'll need an receiver beginning AR. The SR recievers are for surface transmitters. Fooled me too a few years ago, there are 2 standards for DSM
  7. Here are a couple of choices... http://www.rc-auta.eu/rc-auta/?q=skoda http://www.rc-auta.eu/rc-auta/?q=octavia
  8. Again according to Nominet Whois, the domain was only registered on 24th Jan. So only been around a couple of weeks. Searching the postcode ( LL13 0LG ) on Google Maps it appears to be rather rural... Relevant dates: Registered on: 24-Jan-2018 Expiry date: 24-Jan-2019 Last updated: 25-Jan-2018 And their About pages looks horribly similar to this one... https://www.nitrorcx.com/aboutus.html
  9. The 037 body won't fit as it's a shorter wheelbase, I believe that why there's an S in TA-02S But the S4 does fit on the XV-01, as that's what I had it on orginally. But since that's front engine 4WD, it now as the Quattro on it, as that's "more correct" Fits really nicely on the xv-01 as the urethane bumper fits snugly up against the front spoiler, and helps protect it if you happen to run into anything.
  10. More S4 Photos... (Blame Dirt-540 he asked for them!) The S4 shell is made by Rally Legends, and is part number EZRL2381 unpainted and EZRL2382 Painted (but not stickered). I've bought Rally Legend Shells for Italy, the UK and East Europe depending where they're in stock. Lexan is slightly thicker than Tamiya shell and (from my driving) takes a fair amount of punishment. There was no rear bumper on the original 1:1 car after the first few tests, as it tended to catch mud and get in the way. The tyres are HPI Pirellis, which is pretty much wha tthe original cars run the the forests, slicks or groved slick on tarmac (plus lower ride height and tragically, removed under body protection). Shell is looking a little tired now, but has been a regular runner for 3 years.
  11. A few photos of the S4 on completion... And looking more like it's on the RAC... Since these were taken it's had a couple of changes, It now sports 037 wheels as the 1:1 did and also sits on a DF-03Ra chassis, with the body posts cut to size. Originally it was on an XV-01 but it shouldn't be front engined, so that now sits under this... And there's a TB-01 which one day will be a T16 - Hopefully. Although I may now have to add an 037 to the list. Which is a work in progress.
  12. 037 was indeed Group B, and also the last 2WD drive to win the WRC. This would look good in my shelves, joining the S4 and Integrale, plus 2 Audis and a 205 T16 on the way to keep it company. Plus the Renault 5. Just need to find an RS200 and 6R4...
  13. I can also recommend the Bosch IXO https://www.bosch-do-it.com/gb/en/diy/ixo-collection.jsp I added the Torque setting adapter so there's much less risk of stripping out the threads by over tightening.
  14. There's a list partway down the posting here: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/74779-cc-01-wheelbase-which-bodies-have-what-wheelbase/ Which lists all the bodies Tamiya did for the CC-01 some are easier to find than orders, and a couple are very tough to find. Pajero looks good as a scale rig (but I am biased as I own one!)
  15. To make it fit you'll going to need custom rear suspension links, and a custom prop shaft. Depending what CC-01 you have the wheelbases are, 242mm, 252mm or 267mm. The wheelbase on the landy is 275 -285mm. So the CC-01 has to be extended. CC-01 is 195mm wide, the Landy 205, so you'd need wider hexes too. I've looked at this a few times, but never found the time to take on the custom links and shaft.
