  1. Looking at the side on picture here: https://anticsonline.uk/N500/N428/N2412_Tamiya-RC-radio-control-car-buggy-kit/108455197_Tamiya-58667-Audi-Quattro-A2-Rally-RC-Car-Kit.html the sticker on the rear 3/4 looks to be too high and a little too far forwards. Keeping an eye on this as it's a Rally car I haven't got... ...yet!
  2. Sadly not backlit, which I was worried about after a Dx4s, but haven't missed it at all in the last week. Might be an issue come the dingy days of winter in the forest. Although once setup and running I don't often look at the screen, don't have any telemetry setup anymore.
  3. Had the Rugged for about a week. Weight feels good, lots of functions (although Spektrum no longer seems to allow you to set Throttle Punch from the menus) and after about a week I@m beginning to get to grips with scrolling. The touch pad takes some getting used to after the scroll wheel on other Spektrums, but I'm getting the hang of it. Also like that you can use your thumb to steer when needed.
  4. If it's an alloy rack, check that the bolts on the bottom aren't hitting any of the web strengtheners on the top of part C5, with some setups and screw lengths, a little grinding may be needed. Other issues I've had, have been the screws working loose at the top and bottom of the alloy tube (threadlock seems to have fixed that), random rocks getting trapped and the servo moving on it's plastic mounts (alloy sorted that). With the stock setup I had issues with sand/grit in the tube on the chassis that the steering runs through - hasn't been an issue with alloy, but if you've been running somewhere very wet or muddy might be worth a check. I also had 1 alloy setup that just plain didn't work, all the tolerances were out so it got replaced.
  5. Is it stock steering rack or an alloy upgrade?
  6. DX6i is an Air transmitter, so you'll need an receiver beginning AR. The SR recievers are for surface transmitters. Fooled me too a few years ago, there are 2 standards for DSM
  7. Here are a couple of choices... http://www.rc-auta.eu/rc-auta/?q=skoda http://www.rc-auta.eu/rc-auta/?q=octavia
  8. Again according to Nominet Whois, the domain was only registered on 24th Jan. So only been around a couple of weeks. Searching the postcode ( LL13 0LG ) on Google Maps it appears to be rather rural... Relevant dates: Registered on: 24-Jan-2018 Expiry date: 24-Jan-2019 Last updated: 25-Jan-2018 And their About pages looks horribly similar to this one... https://www.nitrorcx.com/aboutus.html
  9. The 037 body won't fit as it's a shorter wheelbase, I believe that why there's an S in TA-02S But the S4 does fit on the XV-01, as that's what I had it on orginally. But since that's front engine 4WD, it now as the Quattro on it, as that's "more correct" Fits really nicely on the xv-01 as the urethane bumper fits snugly up against the front spoiler, and helps protect it if you happen to run into anything.
  10. More S4 Photos... (Blame Dirt-540 he asked for them!) The S4 shell is made by Rally Legends, and is part number EZRL2381 unpainted and EZRL2382 Painted (but not stickered). I've bought Rally Legend Shells for Italy, the UK and East Europe depending where they're in stock. Lexan is slightly thicker than Tamiya shell and (from my driving) takes a fair amount of punishment. There was no rear bumper on the original 1:1 car after the first few tests, as it tended to catch mud and get in the way. The tyres are HPI Pirellis, which is pretty much wha tthe original cars run the the forests, slicks or groved slick on tarmac (plus lower ride height and tragically, removed under body protection). Shell is looking a little tired now, but has been a regular runner for 3 years.
  11. A few photos of the S4 on completion... And looking more like it's on the RAC... Since these were taken it's had a couple of changes, It now sports 037 wheels as the 1:1 did and also sits on a DF-03Ra chassis, with the body posts cut to size. Originally it was on an XV-01 but it shouldn't be front engined, so that now sits under this... And there's a TB-01 which one day will be a T16 - Hopefully. Although I may now have to add an 037 to the list. Which is a work in progress.
  12. 037 was indeed Group B, and also the last 2WD drive to win the WRC. This would look good in my shelves, joining the S4 and Integrale, plus 2 Audis and a 205 T16 on the way to keep it company. Plus the Renault 5. Just need to find an RS200 and 6R4...
  13. I can also recommend the Bosch IXO https://www.bosch-do-it.com/gb/en/diy/ixo-collection.jsp I added the Torque setting adapter so there's much less risk of stripping out the threads by over tightening.
  14. There's a list partway down the posting here: https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/74779-cc-01-wheelbase-which-bodies-have-what-wheelbase/ Which lists all the bodies Tamiya did for the CC-01 some are easier to find than orders, and a couple are very tough to find. Pajero looks good as a scale rig (but I am biased as I own one!)
  15. To make it fit you'll going to need custom rear suspension links, and a custom prop shaft. Depending what CC-01 you have the wheelbases are, 242mm, 252mm or 267mm. The wheelbase on the landy is 275 -285mm. So the CC-01 has to be extended. CC-01 is 195mm wide, the Landy 205, so you'd need wider hexes too. I've looked at this a few times, but never found the time to take on the custom links and shaft.
  16. Other Rally Legend bodies can be seen here: http://www.therallylegends.net/products.php?groupe=1167&search_ref=&search_txt=
  17. The shell in the photo came from Italy about 3 years ago, was a good deal but the exchange rate ain't what it used to be. Think it was 20eur plus about 14 for shipping. It's a Rally Legend shell. Unpainted the part number is: EZRL2381 Painted it's: EZRL2382 although you still have to cut, decal and install spoiler, wipers and lights. I picked up a spare about a year ago (I think from Poland). Google for the part numbers and then check out the price is the best way I've found, usually after a couple of months a good deal appears. Buying within the EU obviously preferred as you don't have to factor in the import costs. One's on eBay often seem to come at a premium (have seen them up at £70) I like the Rally Legend shells (I have the Red Delta shell from 1989 San Remo waiting to be built) detail isn't quite as good as Tamiya, but it's close, also the Lexan seems slightly thicker and more durable. On the XV-01 the front foam bumper fits snugly into the front spoiler, which helps protect the shell.
  18. Having run on wet grass I'm not sure the wheel arches make all that much difference (but a clean rally car is just wrong!), but I've never had any muck in the electrics or inside the belt cover, so only ever needed an old toothbrush to clean it off once it's dried. However, I do have a plan to attached mud flaps when I get the time...
  19. Can't comment on TT-02, but the XV-01 as Jimmer7 has said is a please to drive. Mine is mostly taken on family walks, where it handles public footpaths well, you just have to watch out for pinecones, as they tend to get trapped underneath. In 2.5 years of ownership I've broken nothing on it, it does have a slipper clutch fitted although I don't really think I need it for the type of scale rallying I do and also I was advised to upgrade to the High Torque servo saver (51000) as you can occasionally get debris around the steering servo. Lancia Delta body looks good, my XV-01 wore the RallyLegends Lancia S4, and is in the process of becoming an Audi Quattro, as it better suits the front engined layout.
  20. I almost didn't post for that very reason, but I firmly believe with your knowledge of the TB-01 you'll do a far better job. So no pressure there then! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  21. Don't know if anything here might here: https://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=57789 It's the Levant which is a TB-01 based Truggy, but there's a manual with part numbers and an exploded view. If you need any of the bits. NDF-01 suspension arms are also rumoured to be a fit on the TB-01. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/61775-levant-ndf-01-suspension-arms/
  22. I built a Violet Racer with my 8 year old, three and a half years ago. She did pretty much the entire build except the shocks (she couldn't compress the springs to fit them) On;y changes from stock were ball bearings and oil shocks. Was out running it yesterday and so far hasn't broken anything (but has hit a lot of stuff) She loves it, being purple helped as did finding a small Kumamon figure to sit in the drivers seat. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/311433403783?lpid=122&chn=ps&googleloc=9045065&poi=&campaignid=270621186&device=c&adgroupid=16885268106&rlsatarget=pla-146650302306&adtype=pla&crdt=0
  23. I have a DX3s and DX4s (and the latest firmware in the DX4s) The GR300 will not bind with the DX4s, I haven't tried the latest version listed here: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__73012__OrangeRx_GR300R_DSM_DSM2_Compatible_3ch_2_4Ghz_Ground_Receiver.html However I have slowly (due to the cost) been moving to Spektrum receivers, as out of my last purchase of 5 Orange Rx's I've had 3 fail - on 2 the pins just came away from the board. To date not had a Spektrum Rx fail. Orange receivers are now being relegated to my very occasional runners, but I think ultimately even they will get Spektrum ones.
  24. I chewed one spur gear when I first went Brushless (10.5T), but after replacement and alloy motor mount all has been good. Only other bit needed was a rear suspension arm that got ripped off by a raised manhole cover! Car has survived 4 barrel rolls and at least 3 cartwheels with only scratches to the shell - in my opinion the best feature of the TB-01 is it being close to indestructable!
  25. I suspect like me those of us who also own, run and enjoy the TB-01! I have a pair (both brushless) 1 with the long arm suspension kit installed. They are by far my most used Rally car runner (although that may switch back to my XV-01 once it's new shell is complete). Also bought and setup one for a friend and it visits occasionally for maintenance, last visit was new ESC and Rx.
