  1. Do they make some bricks 10x as hard on purpose? A 5 min job to out up extra shelves in man cave takes 3 times as long, half bricks are done in quickly in seconds, rest take ages. Would a SDS drill be better?

      No random holes, luckily all in right place. These are grey standard sized bricks in the garage, but they do look similar to the chimney breast ones when the plaster fell off above our fire place.

      My drill bits wouldn't go into them, I bought them cheap, kinda purposely, they were for only doing one job, they did it, so I was only out 6quid lol, rather than about £50 for a load of drill bits I won't use again.

      They've done most of the walls to be fair, just aren't keen on going into the chimney breast.

      sds drills are more better, has more percussion, normally 5.5mm for red plugs, 6.5 for brown plugs, depends on what weight your putting on them and how many brackets they have.
