  1. Took the outlaw out. Lost a wheel nut after about 5 mins. Spent ages digging through the shed looking for. No joy. . Then found 2 flanged nyloc ones on the window sill in the kitchen
  2. Took the wltoys k999 out on the road for the first time (I've just been jumping it in the house). Had 10 minutes of sliding fun before the diff went south . It's only had 3 lipos through it. I can't be bothered to wait a month for a new one , so I'm gonna lock it.

    Wltoys 10428 ?

I just had a Google. The videos don't look too promising. . A few more quid'll get you an ftx outlaw or outback. They're far better than the wltoys 10428. Have a look on here , there's plenty of info . Mines a pretty capable truck, especially for the price.
  4. Get ya lipos from hobbyking. Same quality as everyone else, loads less money.
  5. Measure the wheelbase (from centre of the wheel to centre of the wheel) & width. I've Had good luck with kamtec shells.
  6. Castle are overpriced because they're a brand name. Hobbywing are just as good. My castle mmm esc's case fell apart & pulled the on off switch wires off the circuit board. I emailed castle about it & they were less than helpful. .
  7. What ya got/planning on getting?
  8. Hi. Don't bother buying ya lipos from modelsport. You can get good uns for a fraction of the price from hobbyking uk. They do reasonable charger/balancers too.
  9. Took the outlaw out with the misses & little un. Had some pretty full on crashes at about 25 mph & only broke the body post I'd fixed myself. Not bad for a 125 quid truck
  10. Love king of the hammers & ultra 4. That's why I bought the ftx outlaw. I can't afford an axial , so I went for the cheapo version .
  11. Pretty good for the money. Even better if the government don't skank ya for import tax . They jump well. Very low to the floor though.
  12. Darrant chemicals sell it for less than 4 quid for 5 litres.
  13. Nail polish remover works. Just have a read of the ingredients. Some of it is acetone free now. You can buy pure acetone by the gallon off the net really cheap.
  14. After the farce of them being held for ransom.. The misses went & picked em up. Fast little 4x4s. Alu chassis, steel dogbones. Should be fun for me & little un to race round the living room
  15. Royal mail were supposed to deliver em. They've charged £8 each handling fee. .
  16. Yeah the wheels. If you glue the tyres. Do spots of glue at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock 6 o'clock nine o'clock. Then 1 , 4, 7 10 o'clock. Then a thin dribble between the tyre & rim while holding the tyre away from the rim. Pound shop super glue"s fine. You're not gonna be doing speed runs with an outlaw
  17. Yeah. I use acetone to get the tyres off. Have a look on YouTube. Thoroughly clean the inside of the tyre. Do a spot test on a wheel. I left some soaking overnight & they turned to snot . Put a couple of layers of tape on. Put the tyres & foams back on. Reglue. Sorted. & another plus, you've still got a load of gorilla tape left. I used it to hold the sunroofs in my legacy after the mechanisms broke .
  18. Have you considered gorilla taping em ? I've done a couple of sets. It worked wonders .
  19. 2 ransom notes . Both demanding £15 import tax on items costing £37.61 . Odd seeing as the actual tax due on em is less than £9. Any ideas what I can do about it?
  20. Ftx do a locker really cheap. & it looks like it takes the removal of 4 screws to put it in. I'm gonna pack my rear diff with universal joint grease (when I can find it . my misses keeps filling my shed with general crap , cupboards, a table, chairs & a few bikes) . Locking the front diff gives you a turning circle of a petrol tanker, the nautical type .
  21. The ground clearance on my outlaw's 4.5 cm. It's a pretty good crawler. & because of the independent front suspension it covers rough ground quick better than a crawler with a quick motor in it.
  22. I've only bent a shock & snapped a body post on mine. But I'm not blasting it over jumps at full belt like I do with my others. Have a google about ultra 4 & king of the hammers. That's the kind of stuff I'm using my outlaw for. Being ftx, it is fragile. Not as bad as the viper ( that's got air bubbles in the plastic ]
  23. Took mine out for a clamber. It did really well, especially as the loose stuff was wet. . The esc got hot ( I was mainly crawling it about on stuff it shouldn't get up) . No breakages . Pretty good seeing as it rolled backwards down a 60° ish slope 20+ feet a few times. Found a couple of new play spots too. Can't wait until the weather improves.
  24. If you're putting deans on your esc, hobbyking do connector converters for their connectors for £2.50 For 2. It saves farting around soldering. I run em with the 4000MAH 2s hardcase lipo in my outlaw with zero problems
