  1. The Queens view, Tarland with the Cairgorms in the background
  2. I like that better than the flashy 1
  3. I have always liked the look of them 8x8 Russian trucks, seen a green 1 on aliexpress the other day with a trailer for less than £400 and it was a kit, i was thinking perfect price is right, fancy doing a lengthy to build kit and it looks good and added it to my basket, then layed my phone down and whilst at work the next day was thinking about all the pros and cons of it and had a another look as i was thinking over there was 1400 odd pieces and though thats as a strange thing to put then on closer inspection its a lego thing, I am so glad i didnt buy it. Dont get me wrong i have nothing against lego i built a few when i was a kit its just not what i was wanting!
  4. Attach the arb to the truck in the centre and then just see where the drop links sit to drill your holes, just keep in mind placement so they dont rub on the drive shafts, i opted to drill the holes with the biggest space behind as i used nuts and bolts, you will see what i mean when you get at it
  5. Yea you need to drill a hole in each arm to install the sway bars i havent broken an arm yet since fitting them, i do have some pics on my xmaxx thread i am sure
  6. I have at trophy truggy too, i did a 5.9 swap in mine, it really is a lot of fun and really fast, i think i i have a 17t clutch bell on mine
  7. So with all the issues im having with rear diffs thought i would get some GPM mod 1.6 hardened steel ones, i thought these would be good as there is a snap ring behind the bearing so it cannot pull out and hit the diff casing, the downside to this is you cannot shim it, they are not good rear 1 didnt last a a set of packs before it was slipping again, so back to the drawing board again so in hindsight these are of no use and i would not recommend anyone to buy them
  8. There is much cheaper ones out there if you look on aliexpress
  9. Some play is to be expected with any rc vehicle
  10. I have had the extenders on mine for 4 months now, been out pretty much every Saturday and sunday and run 3-4 packs each time and the wheel bearings are ok tbh, sure there os some play but thats expected with or without extenders. The price difference definitely makes it worthwhile On the savage xl i also have 18mm extenders, they have been on for years and i dont think bearings have really worn out any faster with them on
  11. Try it now that both wheels are going in the same direction and see if its still doing the same
  12. 1 of the diffs has been put in upsidedown, take 1 out and turn it round, to tell which 1 it is lift the wheels of the ground go forward on the control and see which 1 is going in reverse and then turn that diff around in its casing
  13. Sway bars are still on there, i also ordered mine from there as its just so much better value for money
  14. The blue star ones is the ones i went for, but i think i did see plain ones, whatever you pick make sure they have some sort of serrations on the rear to help keep them locked on these are more plain https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133823134213?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ME_-kv8oTRm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=MRHag3XmRgm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  15. I had to take a few attempts reading that but i get you now, the extenders are the same thread as the stock nuts which you can use perfectly well but if you want to buy something aftermarket you get something you like, i did change mine to nuts with a cap on them to save crud getting on the threads, i always put some purple loctite on wheel nuts as they always seem to slacken off, no matter the model
  16. Have always thought these look very much like a savage
  17. I was just going to cut the bottom ring of the original spring and use that
  18. I am sure they have the holes in them, i have the high speed gears in mine, i also changed the gearing in the centre drive to higher speed ones too, i see what you mean by scarce, i just had a look on my goto website for spares and there is none!
  19. I have the stiffer servo spring but i think next time i have the front end apart i am going to make the spring stiffer still
  20. Gt3c is a good system, there is an older and a newer version though, newer version uses a micro usb to charge it and if you look at the battery where it connects to the remote there is 3 separate connections
  21. Yea i have, i think he must mean a 6mm hex nut, but yea your on the right track same size nut and bolt
  22. Fitted up my new wheels onto my trailer, i think its 100% better original wheels and new wheels
  23. I have the original blackout which was when they first came out maybe they were made differently, that being said when i broke them i bought replacements direct from Himoto and maybe they are different, i also got all my gears from there too and so far they have stood up very well. I always thought my gears were machined parts, who knows. 1 thing is for sure its nice to see someone doing mods to 1
