  1. Over the years in my line of work I have had the need to work / manage safely and it’s followed me home. Lots of flammable liquids, adhesives, sharp blades etc in the workshop. I haven’t had to use the fire extinguisher yet (touchwood) but the first aid kit gets used occasionally but luckily nothing to serious (touchwood again)
  2. I understand, I’m quite lucky the room itself is quite large and I will have most of it available to me from next week, once I’ve got rid of the scalextric clutter and I’ve got about 60 cacti 🌵 in there they will be moving to the house, I have permission from Margaret, so will get them moved before she changes her mind 😂
  3. Having been away from the rc scene for sometime, the space I used previously for working on models had disappeared and was being used for other things, so today, I’ve been having a bit of a clear-out and reclaiming some space. Looking better now at least I can work / build once my hop-ups arrive. The wooden box at the far end is my home made spray booth but it is currently full of other rc stuff not spray stuff. I have more storage space opposite this workbench, will re-claim that next week, from slot car stuff, mainly Scalextric, it’s just gotta go.
  4. From the Amazon postie ANNIMOS 25KG Digital Servo, for the CC-01 build supposedly waterproof, good reviews, we shall see
  5. I’ve had a couple of these lately https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GK1G5FV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 decent reviews and currently an extra 6% off at the moment
  6. I’ve always loved this simple paint job I did on this Merc TB-02 a long time ago now and I regret getting rid of it now
  7. Thanks, I have a few hop-ups ordered / on the way hopefully they will be here for next weekend and I will make a proper start on the build
  8. I have a few to many Traxxas items, that I don’t need, all are brand new & unused and still in original packaging, all were bought for use with TRX-4 I really shouldn’t be left alone with a credit card. P&P at cost or below depending on number of items bought. Traxxas EZ-Peak Plus 4Amp, NiMh/LiPo Fast Charger £30 (Sold) Fastrax Rubber MudFlaps and Aluminium Mounts for TRX-4 Land Rover Defender £10 (per set somehow I have 3 sets for sale) one set still available (Sold) Fastrax TRX-4 Brass BK Front Caster Block (2) £10 (Sold) Fastrax TRX-4 Brass Hex Wheel Hubs V2 3mm & 5mm £10 for both packs (Sold) Fastrax TRX-4 Alluminium Front and Rear Magnetic Body Mounts £15 (per pack, does 4 mounts, I have 2 packs) (Sold) Fastrax TRX-4 Aluminium Front Grill Set (for defender) £20 (sold) Fastrax TRX-4 Aluminium Headlight Guards (2) £5 (Sold) TRX-4 or TRX-6 Five separate different brass weight sets £30 the lot, (Sold) TRX-4 Crawler under protection, stainless steel £10 (sold)
  9. Oh no, just got some Fastrax shocks for a TT-02 build, will maybe have to rethink that then.
  10. Thanks, have also just seen barrel springs too should they be needed.
  11. Thanks for the info but it leaves me with yet another question, the ones you mention do not come with springs, do I continue to use the kit supplied ones or are there others I should use
  12. I was expecting to jump right in today and start this CC-01 Defender build but having opened the box I was suddenly confronted with what seems like an enormous number of parts. I haven’t done a build for around 10 years, so now I’ve decided to take a step back, read the user manual and look at the hop-ups I will need and likely make a start tomorrow. I am sure I will be back here with questions throughout the build and I have one already to do with hop-ups, I already have a bearing set but think it is likely I should upgrade the shocks now. Which aftermarket shocks would you recommend the Tamiya 54541 are shown on the box as an upgrade but appear to be in short supply, are there alternatives. Once built it is more likely that it will be used on fairly easy trails through woodland rather than rock crawling. one other question what else would you consider as essential hop-ups in the build, I may as well get them ordered now, if funds are available
  13. Fastrax shocks &steering links for upcoming TT-02 build, bearing set for CC-01 Defender build and some shock oils
  14. I have two TRX-4’s the Defender & Sport and I am amazed at where they can get too and out again, although I am new to this crawling / trailing stuff. The defender is a little top heavy but I have plenty of brass on it to counter, and have not actually rolled it yet, although it did drop of a cliff when I got to close to the edge but no amount of brass could have helped that situation 😂
  15. Mine arrived today, looking good, best find somewhere to stick-em
  16. Bearing kit on the way, shocks trying to work out which ones
  17. A Tamiya CC-01 Chassis kit with Defender 90 body Time to start looking for essential upgrades that should be used
  18. This Traxxas TQi tr & tx arrived today via the forum sales from @Gaz!, great deal thanks. To be used with TRX-4 Sport by Margaret (my far better other half) so she can have more bling like lights, winch etc
  19. Thanks for the tip about hanging it from my elbow / arm, I have tried it upside down when it goes into inverted mode, seems to work well but as I am holding it in my hand of course I can’t steer, will give your idea a go next time I’m out. Thanks for doing the videos loads of valuable info, but I also need to practice more at getting in the right position Billy
  20. They are Koswork from Modelsport, great size / fit for these two trucks, also have room for tx and other essentials
  21. Got this DJI Osmo Mobile 3 gimble for use with my mobile phone after watching a few videos from @Fly In My Soup about ways to film / photograph trucks when they are moving, this follows my abysmal attempts to video our trucks over the past couple of weeks, still some work to do and also need to Improve my editing skills. Watch this space. I could probably also do with improving my fitness levels so I can keep up with the trucks on the trail 😂😂
  22. Sadly we’ve had to start packing away the two TRX-4’s because we have to go home tomorrow, although home is not far away, been away in the caravan for a couple of weeks, what a great idea to bring the trucks with us. We have never made so much use of any RC cars. Also done a good few upgrades on them a really enjoyable time. Luckily the site owner was happy for us to use them on site and also pointed us in the direction of some woodland that he owned and other waste ground that he is going to re-develop. I have also ordered a couple more for projects in the coming months a TT-02 S and a CC-01 Defender 90.
  23. Added in a pair of aluminium rock sliders on the TRX-4 Sport, I wasn’t going to put these on but I appear to have accidentally doubled up on a couple of orders and somehow managed to order from both Modelsport & Wheelspin.
