  1. Blimey! Didnt know Baja's were still a thing!
  2. The original Max 6 struggles with the higher KV of the 1650kv motor, as you found out. This is a lower KV. This set up is basically a Max 6 in a stock X Maxx, which many many people run. Myself included
  3. The Hobbywing Motor 4985 is a 1650kv hence only rated for 6S This is a 4985 but is a 1250kv so is a different motor, and lower kv should be fine on 8S. All the 4985 is the motor size (49mm Diameter, 85mm Length) so very similar to the stock X Maxx Motor. However Im sure I heard the stock motor mount can take a 58XXX can standard without a motor mount upgrade which is cool
  4. This is my concern. Im not an Arrma fan at all, but Id love to do an Infraction build..... Then I realised, in the real world I sometimes struggle to get top speed out of my brushed Tamiya on roads......
  5. Added an extra TA 02, so thats now got an Evo WRC Shell on which meant I could add a second R34 GTR Z Tune to my TT-02 SRX
  6. It doesnt make a difference to Traxxas, but when you buy something in America, as an American for example theres a sales tax, similar to what we call VAT. So for example the £783 would have sales tax on top of it, which varies from State to State, I believe upto around 8%. I guess it would be like UK showing prices without VAT. Not debating its cheaper in the US, but its not as clear cut as you make out. I also believe the Promoto got a massive price drop after some backlash with the original UK price, but hey, point taken. However, you dont like Traxxas, Im quite fond of Traxxas, so regardless were never going to agree on any thing are we haha 🙂
  7. Traxxas aren’t scalping anyway, its how imports work. Its a government thing. From Nike trainers, to RC Cars, by the time a product is here, its 20% more. Its just how import taxes work? Traxxas are far from a perfect company morally. Their UK Pricing is nothing to do with them.
  8. https://www.redcatracing.com/products/redcat-vigilante-8s-1-5-scale-brushless-monster-truck?variant=40677675532378 Does look a bit budget, but price point is good.
  9. The specs look great to be fair. Im not sold on the looks/chrome wheels, but the specs do appear good.
  10. Why are you mentioning how much something costs in another country? What relevance does that have? Its also £783 plus sales tax over there…..
  11. At £1099 the stock one isnt a bas price at all in my opinion…..
  12. Yea they’re the same wheel just a different colour for the Clio
  13. This is the issue with buying unknown RC's. They may be cheap, but they are potentially worthless if you cant get parts...... You should be able to get similar shocks though. What size buggy is it? I'm guessing maybe HPI Baja/Losi stuff may fit?
  14. Decided to put a Road Car Shell on the SRX Thats better 🙂
  15. Wow, weve come a long way from here. Not much of an update, but thought Id update the fact my Repsol Cosworth now has the Correct Period Wheels/Tyres
  16. I bought a Blue Painted R34 Z Tune shell so we played Body/Wheel Merry Go Round First of all. Correct wheels onto the Repsol Cosworth I moved the Evo 7 WRC and Rally Wheels to the TA02 I bought just for the wheels above I then put my new Z Tune R34 Body and some 2 Piece Tamiya Wheels on my SRX. The wheels rub on the TT02SRX, but its a shelfer so not the end of the world Blue is just so much better than box art! I may have a plan for the clear wing......
  17. For the above. Found this on eBay Painted to a brilliant standard so I bought it Cant beat a Blue R34
  18. Oil is used for tuning diffs. You use various thickness' totunie the diff to make it tighter or looser depending on your driving surface/driving style. Not all diffs are oil tuneable. Usually oil filled tunable diffs have gaskets to keep the thinner oils in. Its a tuning option, not a necessity and for most applications thick grease is used and is fine. Do your diffs have gaskets? I use GT85 and kitchen roll to clean out the grease. Regarding the bearings. you may need to remove the outdrives before you can remove the bearings. Check your manual.
  19. Was browsing eBay whilst my Mrs watched the Rugby on Saturday (im not into Rugby) and I noticed this. Had a long chat with the guy selling it, lovely guy, and struck a deal. It arrived today. Now you may be thinking, why has he bought that old TA02 for? Hasn't he just sold 5 of those for a 'clear out'? Well yes, but when I bought my Tamiya Repsol Cosworth, I didnt have the correct wheels. Ill be honest, I prefer the fake Rally Style ones I have on it, but recently Ive been making some perfecting tweaks to my stable, so I decided to get the period correct kit ones. I'm not going to lie and say Ive been looking every day for #50711, but when they did come up, the seemed to be very expensive or battered. From my limited knowledge, they only came on the 1 Cosworth model. I'm sure an expert will let me know I could have got some from 'X' but hey, I have 4, decent. condition ones now. https://tamiyabase.com/parts/1373 They will end up on this As I say, I probably prefer the ones that are on it, but hey. This is how it should be and how I remember it. It also gives me a spare chassis, so I can move my Mitsubishi Evo 7 WRC off my SRX onto this chassis (Rally car, rally chassis) and Ive picked a road car shell for my SRX (Touring Car Shell for a Touring Car). Make sense? It does to me! I think!
  20. I'm not saying do it, because its not rated for it. But after 5 XMaxx's and an XRT, running on 7.4v, Ive never burnt out a Traxxas receiver.
  21. How good is he currently with his RC's? Maxx is a handful on 4S, but definately will want 4S eventually. IF you go 3S, just bare in mind you may potentially want to go to 4S in the future so budget for that
  22. You wont agree, but Horizon are more dangerous than Traxxas to the hobby……
